Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Remember when everyone was convinced that Marvel was doing everything in its power to kill the X-Men in order to spite Fox for still owning the film rights? Well, seems like that’s been sorted out because Marvel dropped this bomb on Twitter last night. A new “Iceman” series is coming, but with no word as to the creative team. However, this does look like the first in a new wave of X-Titles spinning out of “RessurXion”.

– From CBR comes the news that Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt will be reuniting for a new series of “The Damned” set to hit shelves in May 2017. To celebrate this, Oni Press is putting together a remastered paperback of their original run of the series in March 2017.

Deadline reports that Matt Corman and Chris Ord, creators of Covert Affairs, are teaming up with Alyssa Milano to adapt Milano’s comic, “Hacktivist”, for The CW. Looks like CW really is the home of comic book TV, huh?

– Did you watch X-Men: Apocalypse? You shouldn’t have because it sucked, but if you did you would have briefly seen Tómas Lemarquis as Caliban. Well, Caliban will be returning in next year’s “Logan” with a slightly different face as he’ll be played by Stephen Merchant. Director James Mangold gave us a look at the character on Twitter while Merchant did so on Instagram.

– Finally, check out these new character posters for the cast of Star Wars: Rogue One, which features each character shown against a display of the Death Star plans that are central to the film.

Alice W. Castle

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
