Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Mark Millar has exceptional taste in artists and clearly gets how much of the eventual success of the comics he works on is in their hands. Exhibit A? When he wants to work with Stuart Immonen (aka the best penciller in mainstream comics) on their new 18-issue miniseries “Empress”, he doesn’t wait until Immonen’s exclusive Marvel contract is up. He goes back to Marvel and works under their Icon line for the first time in years to make that “big, fun, bombastic space opera” happen now. Because he knows when you get that kind of opportunity, you do whatever you need to do to make it happen.
– Bob Kane getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week is a thing that happened. You can see visual evidence of this at the link. While Bill Finger’s name was mentioned more than once, the lion’s share of attention went to his creation and the man who commissioned that creation from him. You can see what a Finger-less Batman would be like here.
– David Goyer talks about the potential Superman-prequel TV series Krypton and how it’s set WAY before the planet’s destruction. Should the show make it to air on SyFy, I’m sure he would come up with a way to get around that little obstacle for the final season. After all, the channel does have a history of time-jumping…
– Jeremy Renner reiterated the full version of his remarks on what his job entails vis a vis his coworkers’ salaries. While he did say helping other people get paid more wasn’t his job, he did point out in that original interview that he doesn’t include getting himself a higher salary as part of his job either.
– Top Cow has put together a truly humbling bundle of books together for an insanely low price to benefit the CBLDF & The Hero Initiative. Please consider adding another digital bookshelf to your library and helping out some good causes at the same time.
