In case you missed it, our coverage of New York Comic Con 2018 continued with interviews with Izneo CEO Luc Bourcier, and J.M. DeMatteis and Corin Howell on their Berger Books project, “The Girl in the Bay.” We also spoke to “Bloodborne” writer Aleš Kot.

– Oni Press has announced their releases for Summer 2019. New releases include “Ghost Hog” by Joey Weiser, “Emiline: Knight in Training” by Kimberli Johnson, “The Black Mage” by Daniel Barnes and D.J. Kirkland, “Super Fun Sexy Times” Volume 1 by Meredith McClaren, and “Little Witches: Magic in Concord” by Leigh Dragoon. They will also publish a collection of the digital series “Dream Daddy,” based on the cult video game, and a new collection of Sarah Graley and Stef Prenins’s “Our Super Adventure” webcomic called, “Our Super Adventure: Video Games and Pizza Parties.”

Humble Bundle is partnering with the ACLU for their latest book bundle, Get the Vote Out 100%, featuring titles from DC, IDW, Image, Lonely Planet, Microcosm, No Starch Press, Oni, Quirk, Skyhorse, and Tachyon, along with an all-new anthology called RESIST! Tales from a Future Worth Fighting Against. The anthology is edited by Rogue One screenwriter Gary Whitta, Christie Yant, and Hugh Howey, and features 27 stories from writers like Charlie Jane Anders, John Scalzi, Saladin Ahmed, Kieron Gillen, and Sarah Kuhn. The pay-what-you-want bundle is available through November 5, 2018.

– A few of Marvel’s hip-hop variant covers will be used as actual album art for re-issues of the inspirations behind them. Universal Music Group’s Urban Legends imprint will release 50 Cent’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’ with Brian Stelfreeze’s “Invincible Iron Man #1 cover, LL Cool J’s Mama Said Knock You Out with Tim Bradstreet’s “Punisher” #1 cover, and GZA’s Liquid Swords with Denny Cowan’s “Contest of Champions” #1 cover. Each release will be available in a standard collector’s edition that replaces the original artwork with the Marvel tribute, and a deluxe edition that features a 3D lenticular print of the Marvel art, along with a limited edition version of the actual comic.

– The Immonens have come out of “retirement” with a comic that they’re posting to Instagram called “GRASS.OF.PARNASSUS.” The couple are posting one panel every monday. It seems to be a sci-fi story, but there are only three panels so far.

– There’s a new trailer for the latest 3D animated film adapted from the comic “Asterix,” called, Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion. While the previous film was a direct adaptation of the comics, this one is an original story by co-director Alexandre Astier. Asterix: The Secret of the Magic Potion will be released in French theaters on December 5, 2018. There are no current distribution deals in the U.S. at this time.

Wonder Woman 1984‘s release date has been pushed back seven months to June 5, 2020. It was originally scheduled for November 1, 2019, but most likely moved to take advantage of the less crowded June release schedule (especially with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 vacating its May release). The new June date also puts Wonder Woman 1984 on the same weekend as the first film, which went on to be the highest grossing summer movie domestically.

– In an interview with ICv2, Archie Co-President Alex Segura revealed that the Riverdale tie-in comics will be relaunched next year with writer Nicole Osto, who also does the tie-in novels. Segura also said that the art team from the last series will be returning. If it is the same as issue #12, that will be Thomas Pitilli, Andre Szymanowicz, and John Workman.

Lucifer has cast Vinessa Vidotto as Remiel, a recurring role in the Netflix resurrected Season 4. The new take on the character is described as a “classic little-sister” who idolizes her eldest brother, Amenadiel. This is Vidotto’s first professional acting credit after graduating from the University of Arizona earlier this year.

– Speaking of Netflix, Matthew Broderick has been cast as Principal Burr in their adaptation of Brian Ralph’s zombie graphic novel, “Daybreak.” The 10-episode series is scheduled to debut sometime in 2019.
