Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– It’s been over a year since we last saw “Wytches” on the shelves and I had assumed the series was pretty much done, but Jock has confirmed at MondoCon that the second arc of the series is being worked on once Jock wraps his arc of “All-Star Batman”.
– In news that really isn’t that surprising, to be honest, it’s been confirmed by the official Instagram of Logan that Dafne Keen’s character is in fact named Laura. She might as well be wearing a t-shirt that says X-23 on it at this point.
– Timothy Truman’s “Scout” has been optioned for a film, according to Deadline. This is a comic I’m not entirely familiar, but the idea of a Native American hero and a world in which America has had its power largely stripped from it is fascinating. Keep an eye on this one.
– It’s been a while since Doctor Who has been on the box, but Peter Capaldi will be returning this holiday season with yet another Christmas Special and BBC have put together a first look preview of the episode. What’s interesting, though, is that the episode is apparently inspired by superheroes. Check it out, though you will have to endure Stephen Moffat’s very bland opinions about superheroes.
– In one of the weirdest responses to yesterday’s news that Tim Miller has parted ways with Deadpool 2 (and I don’t know if this even qualifies as news), someone has created a petition asking for Quentin Tarantino to direct the film. Ignoring the fact that Tarantino takes millions of years to direct his films or the fact that he’s never directed a franchise movie, this would still be a bad move. Do we really want a Deadpool movie in which he regularly drops the n-word? No, we really don’t.
