In case you missed it, IDW announced the video game prequel “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Blind Prophets.” We also have exclusive previews of Marvel’s “Doctor Strange Annual” and Humanoids’ “Scare City,” both out next week.

Art by Clay Mann

– Tom King announced via his Twitter account that his “Batman/Catwoman” run has been delayed in order to have Clay Mann as the sole artist on the series. King said, “Mann and I started to realize we might have something good here, a ‘Mister Miracle’ or a ‘Vision’ in the world of Batman, an attempt to do what Frank did with DKR [‘Dark Knight Returns’], a defining of the characters.” However, “‘DKR’ did not have fill in artists. So Clay offered to do the whole thing, at 22 pages, but he’d of course need time. When the best artist in comics says ‘let’s do it right,’ you don’t say no.”

– On Twitter, Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins confirmed the appearance of supervillain Maxwell Lord in the film, tagging actor Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) in an image of the character from the comics. io9 subsequently confirmed Pascal will be playing the part with a press release from Warner Bros. Wonder Woman 1984 is due out June 5th, 2020.

– France 24 (via Yahoo! News) reports protestors from different parts of the world (Lebanon, Chile, Hong Kong and Iraq) are using the face of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker as a protesting tool against their individual governments. The idea behind this political demonstration could be compared to the use of Guy Fawkes masks from the comic book and film V for Vendetta.

– Marvel Studios founding chairman David Maisel and record executive Scooter Braun revealed that their company, Mythos Studios, is currently working on three animated films, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Among them are Fathom and Soulfire, which are based on the work of the late comic book artist, Michael Turner.

– Marvel’s “Invaders” title will be ending with December’s #12 issue, reports Newsarama. Writer Chip Zdarsky is hopeful for a return “in the near future.” Issue #11 of “Invaders” will be out on November 18th, followed by issue #12 on December 18th.

– With Kevin Feige taking over more of Marvel Entertainment and Jeph Loeb planning his exit from the company, comes news that Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger has been cancelled after two seasons. Fortunately, we’ll still see the characters in season three of Marvel’s Runaways, set to premiere on Hulu on December 13th, 2019.

– The UK and Ireland’s Comedy Women in Print (CWIP) Prize has added a graphic novel category award. The winner of the prize will be published as well as receive a cash prize of £3,000 from Author’s Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS). The next ceremony will be held in July 2020.
