– Marvel announced the latest addition to their Infinity Comics lineup will be the eight-part series “Spine-Tingling Spider-Man,” by writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Juan Ferreyra. The publisher’s announcement teases that it will feature a new villain that “gets in Spidey’s head” and cannot be punched, implying the villain doesn’t have a corporeal existence. The first part of “Spine-Tingling Spider-Man” will be released exclusively on Marvel Unlimited tomorrow, with parts releasing every other Tuesday until its conclusion. As part of the announcement, Marvel released a theme song for the series, which you can listen to here.

Publishers Weekly reported on several children’s graphic novel deals this week, including those for Kyla Smith’s “Foxes, Fire, & Other Magic,” which will cross the paths of a fox spirit called Yukki and a nonbinary noodle maker called Nao; Sami Brice’s autobiographical “Ripple,” which will see protagonist Noéme trying to navigate high school and deal with her extended family all living in the same house after an earthquake in Haiti; and “Patch” by Boya Sun, which will see the known world merging with the toy dimension after the protagonist mends his toy with a magic fabric. Also reported was Scholastic’s acquisition of middle-grade novel Elle Campbell Saves Their Saturday, which is set to be Ben Kahn’s (“Heavenly Blues”) prose novel debut. You can check out the full list of graphic novel deals at Publishers Weekly.

– DC Comics announced that Hi-Fi Studios are set to be the new colorists for “Superman: Son of Kal-El” from issue #5. A reason for Hi-Fi joining the book was not given, though the previous colorist, Gabe Eltaeb, recently voiced criticism of the publisher’s direction during a LiveStream event, where he claimed that DC are “ruining these characters” by being more diverse and inclusive. The upcoming fifth issue of “Superman: Son of Kal-El” will see Jon Kent come out as bisexual; writer Tom Taylor, artist John Timms, and letterer Dave Sharpe make up the rest of the creative team for the issue, which will be released on November 16.

– Image Comics contacted retailers to announce that they will no longer be reprinting any of their books for the “foreseeable future” as a result of “the current shipping delays, supply chain crunch, and paper shortages.” They went on to detail that they will be “adjusting the schedule of upcoming titles over the next few weeks to reflect a more responsible usage of raw material availability,” though titles set to be affected by the adjustments have yet to be announced.

THR revealed that Hayden Christensen will be returning as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader for the upcoming Ahsoka Disney+ series. Details about Christensen’s specific portrayal of the character are currently under wraps, but are the subject of much speculation due to the series being set in The Mandalorian era of the Star Wars timeline (five years after Darth Vader’s demise in Return of the Jedi.) Christensen will be joining lead actress Rosario Dawson for the series. This will be the second return to the Star Wars franchise for Christensen, who portrayed Anakin in the prequel trilogy, with the actor returning as Darth Vader for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. Release dates for Ahsoka and Obi-Wan Kenobi have yet to be announced.

– Netflix released a trailer for the upcoming Super Crooks anime series, which adapts the Mark Millar and Leinil Francis Yu comic series of the same name, though it largely acts as a prequel to the comics. The trailer teases Johnny Bolt setting out to complete the “the riskiest work I have ever done,” which will enable him and his team of supervillain thieves to all become millionaires if they are successful. The trailer shows that the superhero, Praetorian, who has “200 different powers,” will be standing in the way of their success. Super Crooks is scheduled to debut on Netflix on November 25. You can check out the trailer here.

– Netflix also released a trailer for The Summit of the Gods. An adaptation of Jiro Taniguchi and Baku Yumemakura’s eponymous manga series, the film chronicles photojournalist Fukamachi’s climb to the top of Mount Everest in search of answers after finding a camera that appears to have belonged to climber George Mallory. The film is directed by Patrick Imbert and features Damien Boisseau as the voice of Fukamachi. The Summit of the Gods will get a select US theater run starting on November 24, with a streaming debut set to follow on November 30.

– Actor Peter Scolari, who played Commissioner Loeb in Gotham, died aged 66 of cancer following a two-year illness. Scolari also voiced Ray Palmer in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and both the Shark and John Hamner in Batman: The Animated Series. Scolari’s most well-known role was as Michael Harris in Newhart. He won an Emmy in 2016 for his performance as Tad Horvath in Girls. Scolari is survived by his wife and four children.

– Finally, actress Joanna Cameron, who starred in the 1975-76 TV series Isis, died aged 70 after a stroke on Friday. The news was announced on Twitter by her Isis co-star, Joanna Pang Atkins. Cameron’s role as Isis/Andrea Thomas marked the first lead female superhero character on TV, and the first appearance of the character, who was later added to the DC Comics universe (as Adrianna Tomaz) in 2006’s ’52.’ Cameron, who also appeared in Shazam! and The Amazing Spider-Man, retired from acting in 1980, and subsequently worked as a home health care nurse and in hotel marketing.
