– Marvel have announced “Demon Wars: Down in Flames,” written and illustrated by Peach Momoko. The third installment in the re-imagining of ‘Civil War’ continues to follow protagonist Mariko Yashida and bring in elements of another famous storyline: ‘The Phoenix Saga.’ The official description reads, “The spirit world is divided. Its inhabitants, strange creatures called yokai, have chosen sides, and the two factions are on the brink of all-out war. A bird-like yokai who wields some serious firepower faces off against a club-wielding demon. Mariko Yashida finds herself right in the middle of it. No matter which side she chooses, there will be consequences not only for the spirit world, but for the human world too.” “Demon Wars: Down in Flames” will be released on February 1, 2023, while “Demon Wars: Shield of Justice” will be available November 16, 2022.

On October 13, 2022, the artist posted another “Buns Toons” strip on his blog announcing his cancer was in remission. Below his strip, the artist expressed his gratitude to his editors for the opportunity to return to comics, and teased his work to come, stating “Check out my pages in the newest “Miracleman” #0, and some upcoming work in Gotham City I probably can’t give more details about yet. It’s good to be back to healthy, and I mean it when I say GET TESTED and STAY ALIVE.”
