Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– Somehow we missed this news from Terry Moore: his iconic “Strangers in Paradise” will return in 2018. The self-published comic, which ran for 14 years and 106 issues, will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2018.
– Newsarama did a nice interview with Rod Reis about his transition from colorist to penciller, ahead of his highest profile project to date, “Civil War II: The Oath” for Marvel, which drops in December.
– Steve Dillon’s family encouraged mourners to please donate to the Hero Initiative, an idea that we wholeheartedly support.
– Hey, Venom has a new costume, though we still don’t know who the symbiote has attached itself to.
– Jonboy Meyers shared some of his character designs for “Teen Titans,” most of which will never see print since his departure from the book came abruptly after the first issue.
– In “news” about Ben Affleck’s Batman film, Talia al Ghul will not be a part of it. Can we expect similar “news” pieces about Egghead and King Tut not appearing in the film either.
– In not really comics news, The Incredibles 2 is now set for 2018, with Toy Story 4 being pushed back to 2019.
– And, finally, in even less comic news, Muppet Babies is coming back. I couldn’t be any happier!
