In case you missed it, Scout Comics unveiled their supernatural thriller “Trim Season,“ and Marvel announced the return of “Ghost Rider.”

– Jeff Lemire announced that he was “returning to ‘Royal City.’” The writer/artist did confess that it was early in the process, asking fans to be patient, especially around the production schedule of the Essex County TV series. Work on the new “Royal City” series is not expected to affect “Fishflies’s” release schedule, at least not for another year, though Lemiere promises to juggle the productions as necessary. Lemire also announced that artwork from ”Mazeball” #1 and #2 is now on sale.

– Netflix gave He-Man fans a sneak peak of Masters of the Universe: Revelation – Part 2 with a new trailer. The trailer opens with Mark Hamill’s Skeletor having captured the Sword of Grayskull, and Chris Wood’s Prince Adam revealing the sword was only a conduit. Part 2 premieres exclusively on the streamer November 23.

– Thousands of images, including cartoons and comic strips, have been quietly deleted from online media giant BuzzFeed. According to internal emails at the company, the motivation behind the deletions were “to reduce the risk of further claims and cost,” stating the images removed were “deemed high-risk.” Reports claim that employees were sent spreadsheets of affected articles and given four weeks to prove they had the right to use the pictures in question, regardless of their employment status. These reports go on to claim that tech reporter Katie Notopoulos, writer of around 600 affected articles, was on maternity leave when these spreadsheets were sent, and that reporter Michael Hastings was assigned to fix six articles, despite having passed away in 2013. BuzzFeed has denied this.

– Marvel’s Loki has scored five nominations in this year’s People’s Choice Awards, including Show of 2021. The Disney+ original beats out Ted Lasso, This Is Us and Grey’s Anatomy, each only scoring four noms each. F9: The Fast Saga leads the film side with eight nominations. Voting is open until Wednesday, November 17 at 11:59pm EST and can be done either on the awards’ website or Twitter. The ceremony itself is scheduled for Tuesday, December 7 at 9pm ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

– In more Marvel Studios news, president of physical and post-production, visual effects and animation production Victoria Alonso will receive a Visionary Award at the Outfest Legacy Awards. Alonso will be recognized not only as a visible member of the LGBTQ+ community, but for her contributions in film and media, specifically for her work on Eternals, which includes the first LGBTQ relationship in the MCU movies. The award will be presented on November 13 at the Academy Museum.

– Z2 promises to reveal hair metal legends Motley Crue’s true identities as globe-hopping secret agents with their new graphic novel, “Motley Crue’s The Dirt: Declassified.” The new OGN, one of the publisher’s growing list of music-inspired books, is written by Leah Moore. John K Snyder III and Jose Maria Beroy will provide interior art, with covers by Dan Panosian. Paolo Armitano will add dossier images for each of the rockstar undercover agents. “The Dirt: Declassified” is available for preorder now, will an expected April 2022 release date.

– In other rock ‘n’ roll comic news, Evanescence unveiled the second book in their graphic novel series “Echoes in the Void.” “The Revolution Of Cassandra” was adapted by film and music video director Eric D. Howell from his original screenplay of the same name, which he tied to Evanescence’s single “Use My Voice” after lead singer Amy Lee was impressed by the script. Esau Escorza and Sebastian Cheng will provide cover art, with a variety of interior artists. The book will ship December 2021, and is available for preorder from Incendium’s music-based imprint Opus.

– Finally, in a statement released via Twitter, Source Point Press announced they’ve cancelled all sponsored convention appearances from writer Frank Gogol, and placed all of his projects with the company on hold. This comes after allegations of racism made by writer Malissa White against Gogol, and Gogol’s defamation suit against her. Source Point has received blowback after “liking” Gogol’s initial response to the allegations on Twitter, and for using art from a series he worked on for their NYCC Pro Badges. The publisher also had writer Dirk Manning at their booth during Baltimore Comic-Con on October 20, himself the subject of harassment allegations from multiple women.
