Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Nathan Darrow, known to Netflix subscribers everywhere as Edward Meechum on House of Cards has been cast as Mr. Freeze on Gotham, and will debut on episodes airing this December. From the description released, it sounds like Freeze will be presented with his pre-New 52 origin, where his wife’s illness has driven him, whereas in the New 52 he fell in love with a frozen woman?

– OK, strap in folks – there is a batshit crazy rumor floating around about Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. In fact, to call it a rumor is insulting to rumors – this is from a piece that originated on Total Spoilers and…well, I can’t possibly sum it up better than i09 does – so here is (only part) of the rumor:

Ben Affleck isn’t playing Bruce Wayne. He’s playing Slade Wilson—the comic book character Deathstroke—in disguise as Batman. What else? Christian Bale’s Batman is still Batman, connecting the Man of Steel universe to Christopher Nolan’s wildly popular Dark Knight trilogy. Just let that sink in for a second before you rightfully respond with “Wait, WHAT!?”

Believe it or not, that is the most sane part of the argument. You really, really owe it to yourself to read on. And, if this is all somehow true, then I have to really applaud Zach Snyder for making the most confusing and fucked up superhero universe ever imagined.

– That theory above also ties into Suicide Squad where, of course, The Dark Knight Rises‘s Joseph Gordon Levitt’s Robin John Blake goes on to become Jared Leto’s Joker. While we wait for all the revelations to come out, we can look at two more “Empire” covers featuring Suicide Squad characters, this time featuring Deadshot and Harley Quinn. GRITTY!

– Even before it debuts, Ash Vs. the Evil Dead has been renewed for a second season. Groovy.

– Stan Lee’s ‘World of Heroes,’ which I just learned is a You Tube thing, just released a six minute music video. This is what a slow news day looks like, folks.

– And, finally, while on the set of Spider-Man, Randy “Macho Man” Savage apparently had some ‘animalistic sex’ with his girlfriend in the trailer he shared with Bruce Campbell. Ooooh yeah!
