In case you missed it, “The Strange Talent of Luther Strode” is being adapted into a film, and Oni-Lion Forge are doing an official adaptation of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” series. We also have an exclusive preview of “X-Men” #14.

CBR.com shared an exclusive first look at “The Adept” by Tasha Huo, Charlie Stickney, Peter Shiao, Yishan Li, Gene Chingm and Deron Bennett. The comic is being published by Immortal Studios, a new content studio focused on the martial arts fantasy genre known as wuxia. “The Adept” tells the story of Amy, a young Chinese-American woman who is visited and trained in her dreams by a Shaolin Kung Fu master, in order to face an unnamed evil.

— DC revealed the covers, synopses, and release dates for three middle grade graphic novels. “Metropolis Grove” by Drew Brockington, “The Mystery Of The Meanest Teacher: A Johnny Constantine Graphic Novel” by Ryan North and Derek Charm, and “Green Arrow: Stranded” by Brendan Deneen and Bell Hosalla are set to debut in early 2021. The standalone stories are targeted to readers aged 9 through 12.

— This year has been the best yet for comics on Kickstarter, with $22 million pledged on over 1,300 projects. That includes “BRZRKR,” the graphic novel series by Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt, and Ron Garney, which holds the title of most-funded comics project of all time with $1.45 million raised. With two months left in the year, Kickstarter points out that there’s still plenty of time to back lots of interesting comic projects.

— The CW scheduled winter premiere dates for 12 of its shows, beginning in January 2021. Among those scheduled are Batwoman on January 17; Riverdale on January 20; Black Lightning on February 8; and The Flash and Superman & Lois on February 23. Check out the full list here.

— In an interview with Forbes, Ray Fisher addressed the “toxic and harmful work environment” he and the cast of Justice League experienced under Joss Whedon. Fisher initially spoke out this summer, and has continued to raise flags about alleged racism and unprofessional abuse during the reshoots. A spokesperson for Whedon denied one of Fisher’s claims at Cinema Blend, prompting the actor to reply, “when they make these half baked knee-jerk excuses publicly, they make my job a lot harder.”

— Marc Forster (World War Z) has been tapped to direct White Bird: A Wonder Story for Lionsgate and Mandeville Films. The movie is an adaptation of R.J. Palacio’s graphic novel of the same name, set in Nazi-occupied France during World War 2. In it, a grandmother tells her grandson, Julian, the story of her fairytale life turned upside down by the occupying Nazis. The role of Julian was previously played by Bryce Gheisar in the 2017 film version of Palacio’s initial novel, Wonder.

— Spanish film director Pablo Berger (Blancanieves, Abracadabra) will his first foray into animation with Robot Dreams, based on the 2007 graphic novel by Sara Varon. The European co-production, due out in theaters in 2023, will adapt the story of the friendship between a dog and a robot, and how the dog tries to move on after the robot becomes rusted and trapped on a beach.

— Matt Groening and Dan Castellaneta have teamed up on a short called “Trumpy’s Rhapsody.” It offers a musical peek into “why Trumpy’s grumpy,” animated by Rough Draft Studios with lyrics by Groening.

— Baby Yoda continues to take the world by storm. “The Mandalorian and the Child,” an oil portrait featuring the two, has been unveiled at The Unit gallery in London in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery. It hangs alongside some portraits of familiar Star Wars faces, including Sir Alec Guinness, Thandie Newton, Felicity Jones, Ben Morris, Riz Ahmed, and Gareth Edwards. The display also features original concept art from The Mandalorian by Doug Chiang, John Park, and Christian Alzman.

— Finally, Steve Agee will appear in The Suicide Squad HBO Max spinoff series, Peacemaker. According to Deadline, Agee will likely reprise his role of John Economos. Peacemaker stars John Cena as the title character, and is being written by James Gunn.
