Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– We somehow missed this yesterday, but comiXology announced their first three forays into original content, with exclusive deals with Valiant, BOOM!, and the estate of the late Harvey Kurtzman. “Valiant High,” an alternate Valiant universe set in a high school, “Adventure Time: Marshall Lee Spectacular” is a BOOM! collaboration, and a Harvey Kurtzman adaptation of A Christmas Carol that was unfinished during his lifetime (though finished by a crew of admirers) are the first three books to be released exclusively on the comiXology/Kindle platform. We know that “Valaint High” is a miniseries and that the Kurtzman book is over 100 pages long, but there are still lots of questions (such as pagecount in the non-Kurtzman books) about the projects that remain unanswered.

– The third Wolverine movie has a simple title: Logan, and it debuted its first poster today.

– In a move of two indie publishers joining forces in what can be a hostile environment Lion Forge acquired Magnetic Press today. Both companies are relatively sizeable in the indie comics world, and it will be interesting to see what comes from the merger. This comes on the heels of Lion Forge announcing new books from Joe Casey, David Walker, and more.

Riverdale, the show based on “Archie” comics, is getting its own Archie comic.

– A new Vampirella series is coming from Dynamite next year, written by Paul Cornell, who is reunited with his “Doctor Who”” collaborator, Jimmy Broxton.

– Ben Percy will be writing “007,” a new James Bond series (presumably replacing “James Bond”) from Dynamite.

– Dynamite will also produce “Sweet Valley High” comics, because why not?

– John Ridley is returning to “The American Way” with a sequel, “The American Way: Those Above and Thosse Below,” which Vertigo will release next summer, with original artist Georges Jeanty.

– James Stokoe is no stranger to monsters, having done extensive work on “Godzilla” among others. He will be further refining that skill on “Alien: Dead Orbit,” a new Dark Horse miniseries set in the world of James Cameron’s films.

Suicide Squad is getting an extended cut. Somewhere out there, Jared Leto is doing an obnoxious smile.

– Bill Willingham is writing a crossover for Dynamite that features a succession of Edgar Rice Burroughs characters. Cool?

– On of Arrow‘s producers wants to bring “Prez” on TV. I wouldn’t mind that.

– In what seems like news that must have already happened at some point, Francesco Francavilla will write and draw “Will Eisner’s The Spirit.”

The Legend of Kora is getting a graphic novel sequel.

– And, finally, the producers of Luke Cage wanted Prince to guest star this season, but his untimely passing made that impossible. What a sad world we live in.
