– Kicking off, back in April Marvel and Freeform ordered straight to series the half hour New Warriors comedy. Today however it was revealed that Disney and Marvel will shop the show to other outlets. Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, is a network that skews toward a younger audience. It is unclear if New Warriors will make its debut on Netflix, Hulu, or on Disney’s exclusive streaming service which is set to launch in 2019.

– DC All Access co-host Jason Inman is continuing his partnership with Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends individual care packages to military personnel and their families. Inman has sent, as a part of these care packages over 70,000 comic books to soldiers over the last two years. The Jawiin Comic Drive for Soldiers is looking to send at least 22,000 comics to soldiers and is collecting donations the whole month of November. DC’s Dan DiDio kicked off the donation drive revealing that DC will send 10,000 comics this year. For more information on how to donate click here.

Telltale has revealed that the last season of their The Walking Dead will premiere next year in 2018 and is bringing back writer Gary Whitta as a story consultant. Whitta is best known for his work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and The Book of Eli. Telltale also revealed that all episodes of the game thus far will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One in one collection on December 5th. “The Walking Dead: The Final Season” hits sometime next year.

– Co-founder of Salt Lake Comic-Con Bryan Brandenburg revealed today that the convention may turn to some Crowdfunding tactics in the forms of tickets and other incentives to get donations to pay for some of the legal fees in their fight with Comic-Con Internaional, the organization behind San Diego Comic-Con over the right for the name comic-con. Comic-Con International currently holds the rights to the term “comic-con” and has been in legal dispute with Salt Lake since 2014 (despite it not being the only con using the term).

– The next musical group to come to Matthew Rosenberg, Alex Segura, and Joe Eisma’s “The Archies” is none other than Canadian rock duo Tegan and Sara. The issue which hits in February follows the band turning to the duo after one of their member’s quits and threatens the tour. Tegan and Sara follow the list of other musical groups showing up in the comics including the band CHVRCHES. “The Archies” #5 drops February 21st.

– “Spider-Gwen” artist and co-creator Robbi Rodriguez has been teasing for some time that he would be departing the book and hinted that following the end of the title’s first Marvel Legacy arc which sees Gwen possesed by a Venom symbiote he would be leaving. Rodriguez however recently revealed on another podcast he’d be sticking around for one more arc after “Gwenom.” Is the book headed for cancellation? The next issue of “Spider-Gwen,” #26, hits stores November 29th.

Thor: Ragnarok actress Tessa Thompson recently made headlines when she stated that her character Valkyrie is bisexual like her comic book counterpart, although there are no overt statements or actions in the movie that express her bisexuality. Apparently, there was a scene that was filmed, but cut from the film that pictured another woman leaving Valkyrie’s bedroom, implying they’d had sex. Valkyrie’s bisexuality would open the door for other LGBTQ characters to be a part of the MCU, as currently there are none (along with no solo female superhero films). Ragnarok hits theaters stateside this Friday, November 3rd.

– Finally, Jordanian cartoonist Emad Hajjaj was called in for questioning on Tuesday for posting a cartoon on his Facebook page on Sunday evening depicting Jesus Christ chastising the Greek Orthodox Church for selling land in Jerusalem to Israeli real estate developers which has offended Christians and Muslims alike in the area. If convicted, Hajjaj could face up to three years in prison.
