– Via Newsarama, Titan Comics are teaming up with video game developer Jagex for a line of books based on the free online role-playing game RuneScape. A fantasy adventure set in the world of Gielinor, RuneScape launched in 2001, and has over 300 million registered on PC, iOS, and Android. The first titles were not announced, but will debut sometime in 2023.
– Marvel Comics announced February’s “Amazing Spider-Man” #19 and #20 will be written by Joe Kelly, and feature art by Terry and Rachel Dodson. The two-part story will see Spidey and Black Cat on a romantic getaway to a spa upstate, which is immediately ruined by ninjas. The company also revealed the cover for February’s “Dark Web Finale,” and a first look at the Insidious Six, a demonic version of the Sinister Six who’ll appear throughout the event. ‘Dark Web’ kicks off with an eponymous special on December 7.
– Variety reports Heartstopper star Joe Locke has joined the cast of Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Details were not given on Locke’s role in the series, which will see Kathryn Hahn reprise the role of Agatha Harkness from WandaVision. Coven of Chaos will premiere on Disney+ sometime in Winter 2023.
– Speaking of Heartstopper, the show netted several nominations at the upcoming inaugural Children’s and Family Emmys, including Outstanding Lead Performance in a Preschool, Children’s or Young Teen Program for Locke and Kit Connor. You can check out all of the nominees, which also include several for Netflix’s Raising Dion, Hilda and the Mountain King, and Sweet Tooth, here. The winners will be announced over two nights during the weekend of December 10.
– Caitlin Reilly (Hacks) and Max Jenkins (Dead to Me) have joined the cast of HBO Max’s Dead Boy Detectives series. They will respectively appear in a recurring capacity as Litty and Kingham, who are described as “tiny foul-mouthed dandelion sprites. They are a rude annoyance to the Dead Boys.” It is unknown when Dead Boy Detectives, which was ordered for an eight-part first season in April, will premiere.
– Finally, Marvel announced Wakanda Forever: The Official Black Panther Podcast, which will launch tomorrow, November 3. Written and hosted by Ta-Nehisi Coates, the podcast will have an initial six-part run, interviewing Ryan Coogler, Kevin Feige, Angela Bassett, and more about the making of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, before returning in January to mark the fifth anniversary of the first film.
