In case you missed it, we spoke with Justin Jordan about his time on “Green Lantern: New Guardians” for our ‘New 52’ retrospective 520 Weeks.

– Marvel Comics announced “Eternals: The Undying,” a new one-shot companion for Kieron Gillen and Esad Ribic’s main “Eternals” series. Written by Gillen with art by Ryan Bodenheim, the comic will introduce Uranos the Undying, whom all evil Eternals — including Thanos — are descended from, as the Mad Titan meets him for the first time. “Less Meet Cute, more Meet Execute,” Gillen quipped in the press release. “Eternals: The Undying” goes on sale February 2022.

– Via Nerdist, Marvel announced Spider-Man’s Social Dilemma!, the first in a new children’s prose series. Set during Peter Parker’s youth, the book sees the new wall-crawler contend with Sandman, the theft of an artifact supposedly powered by alien matter, and the toll social media is taking on MJ. Written by Preeti Chhibber (the Avenger’s Assembly books) with cover art by Nicoletta Baldari (“Star Wars Adventures”), Spider-Man’s Social Dilemma! swings into stores on July 12, 2022.

– Diamond Comics’ website has gone down following what the distributor believes to be a ransomware attack. They have now set up Diamond Comics Updates, an emergency site to keep readers and retailers informed of what is happening, and have also notified law enforcement. They stated, “We want to assure you that customer data and financial information is not stored on our network and as such we have no reason to believe it has been impacted by this attack.” Diamond’s portal for retailers to order comics is still up and running.

– Patty Jenkins’s Star Wars: Rogue Squadron has been reportedly delayed because of her other commitments. The movie, which was announced last year for a December 2023 release date, was due to start filming next year. It is unclear why Jenkins’s other projects were an issue for Rogue Squadron, but it appears that Wonder Woman 3 (which was originally intended to be filmed afterwards), may now be her main priority.

– James Gunn announced the start of filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with a photo, which revealed Peacemaker cast member Chukwudi Iwuji has joined the film. Gunn confirmed his inclusion, while declining to name who he would be playing, stating “After working with him on Peacemaker, I wasn’t about to let go of one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with – so I gave him the role most every big name actor in Hollywood wanted.” Iwuji, 45, is a Nigerian-British actor whose past projects include Designated Survivor, When They See Us, and The Underground Railroad. Guardians Vol. 3 releases May 5, 2023.

– Marvel Studios announced 13 of their films will be available to watch in IMAX Enhanced format on Disney+ from Friday. IMAX’s expanded 1:90:1 aspect ratio offers up to 26% more picture during certain sequences, in line with how the films were screened at the company’s theaters. The films will include Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Black Widow, Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and every Phase Three (2016-19) movie available on the service. You can watch a video comparison here.

– In more Marvel movie news, the first official poster for Spider-Man: No Way Home was finally released, and while it doesn’t reveal the full cast of the movie, it does show Doc Ock’s mechanical tentacles, the Sandman’s particles, Electro’s lightning bolts, and (in the distance) Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, sporting a costume and glider similar to his 2002 appearance. Spider-Man: No Way Home releases in theaters December 17, 2021.

– Paramount+ have renewed the animated series Star Trek: Prodigy for a second season. Additionally, the first season, which goes on hiatus after next week (when Star Trek: Discovery season 4 premieres), will resume on January 6, before another break when Picard returns. The second half of the first season will then debut sometime later next year.

– Finally, some spoilers for those who haven’t seen the Eternals movie yet: in an interview with Fandom, director Chloe Zhao confirmed that the voice heard in the post-credits scene belongs to Blade, portrayed for the first time by Mahershala Ali. Ali was announced as playing the MCU’s Blade in an upcoming movie back in 2019; the film is still in development, and will be directed by Bassam Tariq from a script by Stacy Osei-Kuffour. Eternals, which also introduces Harry Styles as Thanos’s brother, Eros/Starfox, and Patton Oswalt as Pip the Troll, is in theaters now.
