– In comics news, Dark Horse announced “Baboon!” from Spanish cartoonist Pau (“Atlas & Axis”) will get a North American printing. “Baboon!” is the story of an orphaned ape who meets a troop of baboons with whom the protagonist tries to fit in with. The completely wordless, all-ages graphic novel will be available July 1, 2020.

From Newsarama, “Achewood,” the critically acclaimed webcomic from creator Chris Onstad, is moving from Dark Horse to Oni Press for a new hardcover omnibus printing that collects the entire 600+ strip series in one book, along with bonus recipes, short-fiction, maps, posters, and more. The omnibus will be available in June 2020 with the promise of “more special editions to be announced in the coming months.”

Newsarama also wrote that Cover A for “The Dark Knight Returns: The Golden Child” #1 is being replaced with what was originally solicited as Cover B for the one-shot. Both covers are by interior artist, Rafael Grampa. The sequel to “Dark Knight III: The Master Race” by Frank Miller and Grampa will be released on December 12, 2019.

Newsarama also reported on Carrie Williams becoming DC’s new Director of Publicity and Communications. Williams has worked for Warner Bros. Entertainment for 12 years as a Director of Global Digital Publicity for Warner’s theatrical releases.

– In film and television news, Collider has the exclusive on the newly casted Jayme Lawson, who will star in an undisclosed role for Matt Reeves’s The Batman. Lawson, a recent Juilliard graduate, will be making her film debut in The Batman following stage performances in Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf. The Batman is scheduled to debut June 25, 2021.

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Titans will be receiving a third season ahead of season 2’s finale on November 29th. The third season is set to arrive in Fall 2020 on the DC Universe streaming service. Of particular note is Titans will still be exclusive to DC Universe, whereas the upcoming second season of Doom Patrol will run concurrently on both the DC Universe and HBO Max streaming services.
