– A superteam of Asian creatives has come together for a comic featuring five stylish Asian heroes battling against anti-Asian hate. Both Vogue and the New York Times featured the new comic “House of Slay,” the brainchild of prominent designers Prabal Gurung, Phillip Lim, and Laura Kim as well as stylist and influencer Tina Leung, and restauranteur Ezra J. Williams.

The quintet, dubbed the #Slaysians on social media, have enlisted writer Jeremy Holt, artist Soo Lee, colorist Kimi Lee and lettering studio AndWorld Design to bring the story of their alter egos to life. Kevin Wada provided the cover for the first issue. The story follows the Slaysians as they are granted superpowers by a mysterious ancient deity, then using their new abilities to form the House of Slay and combat a mysterious man who is fueled by the hatred of everyday people. “House of Slay” #1 was developed by XRM Media and Einhorn’s Epic Productions and is available for free now on Tapas.

– Comics distributed by Diamond Comic Distributors are expected to see delays over the next weeks after the fallout from a ransomware attack on Friday, November 5. Via Newsarama, the company has outlined some details about when shops could expect the arrival of books that were unable to be shipped out in time for their November 9 or 10 release dates. Diamond says those books should arrive by Sunday, November 14 at the latest. The company also noted that they will inform retailers of the expected delivery dates for books with on sale dates of November 15 and 16 sometime early next week. The ransomware attack has also halted Diamond’s capacity to process re-orders, but the company expects that service to be restored by Saturday, November 13.

– A new goblin has arrived in New York City to terrorize Spider-Man, and the current web-head Ben Reilly will have his hands full dealing with her. Designed by Patrick Gleason, the villainess Queen Goblin will make her debut in “Amazing Spider-Man” #88 from Zeb Wells and Michael Dowling, with a cover by series cover artist Art Adams. The current thrice-monthly release schedule lets the flight of the newest of Spidey’s rogues last through the month of February. “Amazing Spider-Man” #88 swings to shelves on February 2, with #89 following on the 16th and #90 on the 23rd.

– Via Anime News Network, a new manga from “Fullmetal Alchemist” creator Hiromu Arakawa will launch next month. The new manga will launch in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine, which revealed that the series is titled “Yomi no Tsugai (The Hinge of the Underworld).” The story follows Yuru, a boy from a rural mountain village. When his twin sister Asa is called to work at the jail at the heart of their village, Yuru begins unraveling “the unnatural mystery hidden beneath his quiet village.” “Yomi no Tsugai” will launch in Monthly Shonen Gangan’s next issue on December 10.

– The DC comic adaptation Titans has received an international release date for its third season. Via Geektown, season 3 of the series, which premiered on HBO Max in the US back in August and wrapped up at the end of October, will be released internationally on Netflix like the prior two seasons. Season 3 finds the titular heroes facing off with Red Hood and the Scarecrow in Gotham City following Batman’s decision to hang up his cowl. DC announced during October’s FanDome event that the series would return for season 4. Titans season 3 premieres internationally on Netflix on December 8.

– The Scottish Book Trust has brought together several comics creators for a literary-themed RPG as part of Book Week Scotland. Hari Conner, Kieron Gillen, Marjorie Liu, Val McDermid, and Ram V will team up to play The Book Shop, a game written by Adrian Barber specifically for Book Week that features the heroes working together to save Treasure Island from a dragon. Part 1 of the special event will air on November 15, with part 2 taking place on November 19. You can also download and read the RPG for free from the Scottish Book Trust website.

– Disney’s 2021 Q4 earnings call has given a little tidbit of information about some of next year’s scheduled releases. Per a transcript of the call, Disney plans to release original content from all of their major tentpole silos – Disney Animation, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and National Geographic – during the fourth quarter of 2022. The call specifically cited Ms. Marvel, the Rogue One prequel Andor, and the Robert Zemeckis-directed live-action Pinocchio as among the titles in that window. Q4 of Disney’s fiscal year runs from July to September, so you can look for all three of those films to drop in late summer 2022.

– Finally, a new trailer has been released teasing the arrival of Spider-Man to Square Enix’s game Marvel’s Avengers. The pre-rendered trailer features a quippy Spidey web-shooting and slinging his way through a squad of goons before he’s given an assist by the assembled Avengers. Spider-Man joins the game as a PlayStation exclusive character in the game’s free November 30 update.
