– Marvel has announced “Avengers Mech Strike,” a new series that will see the heroes of the Marvel Universe suit up in custom mechanical armor to fight a new, unstoppable foe. Writer Jed MacKay and artist Carlos Magno will helm the new series, which sees each of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes don personalized mech suits to battle “aliens, robots, dinosaurs, [and] Martians.” The series will be part of a new line of products featuring comics, digital content, and more to be announced soon. “Avengers Mech Strike” #1 will hit shelves in February 2021 with cover art from Kei Zama.

– Marvel and Hasbro unveiled Transformers Generations — Transformers Collaborative: Marvel Comics X-Men Mash-Up, Ultimate X-Spanse, the crossover action figure. The Ultimate X-Spanse is a Transformer blending elements of Psylocke, Wolverine, and Cyclops that transforms into an officially licensed Lockheed Martin Blackbird jet. The set will also include Wolverine and Sabretooth mini-figures, and retro packaging reminiscent of the 1990s Toy Biz run. Ultimate X-Spanse will be available this March in Target, GameStop, and on Hasbro Pulse.

Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter has left HBO Max’s The Batman spin-off series due to creative differences. Winter was originally hired back in July as writer and showrunner of the series, which would serve as a companion to the 2022 film starring Robert Pattinson. The as-of-yet untitled series will be a prequel, according to The Batman director Matt Reeves, set one year before the events of the movie.

– Zack Snyder has unveiled a new trailer for his upcoming cut of Justice League, now officially dubbed Zack Snyder’s Justice League. The trailer, which can be viewed here, includes more footage of Darkseid from the film’s flashback scene. Zack Snyder’s Justice League will air as a four-part miniseries on HBO Max in 2021.

– Hulu has renewed Woke for a second season. The streaming service has ordered eight new episodes of the live action/animation hybrid series, which stars Lamorne Morris as Keef, an up-and-coming artist who struggles to find balance between social awareness and mainstream success after being the victim of police violence. The series is based on the life of award-winning cartoonist Keith Knight, who also serves as an executive producer on the series. No premiere date has been specified as of yet.

– Finally, Dark Horse Comics has revealed the cover for their new edition of “Heart in a Box.” Originally published in 2015 as part of the Dark Horse Originals line, the book was written by Kelly Thompson with art by Meredith McClaren. It follows a woman named Emma, who sets out to collect the literal shattered pieces of her broken heart. The new edition will feature exclusive bonus material and a larger print size. No date has been announced for a physical release.
