– Wu Tang Clan alum RZA is bringing his alter-ego Bobby Digital to comics with the help of Z2. The original graphic novel “Bobby Digital and The Pit of Snakes” stars the character developed by the rap icon 23 years ago in the album Bobby Digital In Stereo. “Bobby Digital is probably the best fit for comics and graphic novels,” RZA says of the project. “It’s a pleasure for me to collaborate with Z2 Comics and bring this lush world of creativity into the comic space.” RZA writes with Vasilis Lolos and Ryan O’Sullivan, and Lolos provides art as well. The OGN is set to hit shelves in June 2022, but is available for preorder now.

– “Tokyo Revengers” fans can find new chapters of the time-traveling manga thriller on INKR. Fans can read the smash hit series on the service, either through the website or dedicated iOS and Android apps. They can either be purchased individually, or read as part of the website’s $4.99 a month subscription service. INKR has made a few chapters free for nonsubscribers. “Tokyo Revengers” is the 20+ titles available from Kodansha, as part of INKR’s partnership with the publisher.

– DC announced an anthology focusing on bizarre romance stories titled “Weird Love Tales.” The 80-page anthology will feature eight offbeat love stories, such as a “romance of Dinosaur Island,” and a “‘bromance’ between Peacemaker and his eagle sidekick, Eagly.” The book is scheduled for release on February 8, 2022.

– Then the following week (February 15), DC will celebrate Black History Month with an anthology from Milestone focused on Black historical figures. Narrated by imprint heroes like Static and Icon, “Milestones in History” will tell the stories of true-to-life characters such as Carthagian general Hannibal, and Count of Monte Cristo author Alexande Dumas.

– Marvel will also celebrate Black History Month with February 2022’s “Marvel’s Voices: Legacy.” The one-shot will feature the writing debut of Natacha Bustos (“Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur”), and Cody Ziglar (“Amazing Spider-Man”) penning a tribute to Luke Cage for the character’s 50th anniversary, among other stories. “Marvel’s Voices: Legacy” #1 goes on sale February 16, 2022.

– Marvel’s Avengers publisher Square Enix released “Spider-Man: Friends in Heroic Places,” a motion comic setting up the upcoming PlayStation exclusive DLC Spider-Man – With Great Power. Narrated by prolific anime voice actor Sean Chiplock as Peter Parker, and featuring art by Ken Lashley (“Black Panther”), the comic outlines Spidey’s relationships with the Avengers, and retroactively inserts him into the game’s previous storylines. Spider-Man – With Great Power will be added to the PlayStation version for free on November 30.

– 2004’s animated series The Batman is getting a complete remaster for Blu-ray and Digital HD. The Batman: The Complete Series will not only feature high quality production, but also the entire run of the six-time Emmy Award winner. The collection will also include special features, such as villain dossiers and “Batman Junior Detective Exams.” The Batman: The Complete Series will be available on February 1, 2022.

– Finally, production company New Regency has inked a deal with TKO Studios, giving them exclusive rights to develop projects based on the publisher’s IPs. While no titles have been announced, TKO’s Salvatore Simeone and Tze Chun both said they were proud to work with New Regency, stating they believed the companies’ “combined strengths make an ideal partnership and forges a new model for TV adaptation that will benefit all parties, including our incredible creators.” Simeone and Chun will work directly with New Regency to produce, develop, and package any future adaptations.
