– ComiXology have announced three of its original titles set to release this week on November 24: “Breaklands Season 2” #1, “Stone Star Season 2” #1, and the OGN “Prometheé 13:13.” “Breaklands” by Justin Jordan and Tyasseta is set in a post-apocalypse following the development of psychic powers by the human populace, and is centered on two siblings, Adam and Kasa, as they run from kidnappers and killers. Jim Zub and Max Dunbar’s “Stone Star” is a space-faring cyberpunk comic set on the eponymous gladiatorial space station. The new season is set to show off new planets, new secrets and a deeper history of this gladiatorial enterprise. Finally, “Prometheé 13:13” will continue French graphic novelist Christophe Bec’s “Prometheé,” now under the guidance of writer Andy Diggle and artist Shawn Martinbrough. This prequel novel charts the beginning of an alien invasion from the perspective of Darla, a woman with unstable notions of being abducted as a child, and a group of astronauts on the space shuttle Atlantis. For a preview of all three titles, go over to Syfy Wire.

– IDW’s “Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures” now has a release date, with the new series beginning on February 3. The comic by writer Daniel José Older, artist Harvey Tolibao and colorist Rebecca Nalty, follows a group of Yoda’s Padawans, who are under threat from the space pirates, the Nihil. “I’m so very excited to be able to tell this epic story of Padawans as the galaxy changes dramatically around them and danger lurks around every corner,” said Older. “Working on ‘The High Republic’ has been a dream come true and getting to watch this world come to life through the brilliant art of Harvey Tolibao is one of the highlights of my career. I can’t wait for the fans to see what we’re cooking up.”

– Taboo and Benjamin Jackendoff, the writers behind Marvel’s “Werewolf By Night” series, will be reteaming for the upcoming Ghost Rider/Sorceror Supreme Kushala comic. The announcement was made in the pages of “Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices,” with the series set to begin in 2021. No artist is attached as of yet.

– Arune Singh, who served as BOOM! Studios’s VP of Marketing since 2016, has resigned and is officially leaving the company on December 15. Alongside Spencer Simon he drastically reworked the company, helping launch some of its biggest modern titles. Singh has confirmed it was his decision to resign, and that he will be entering a new company in 2021. “To every creator I worked with during those 4+ years – thank you. I had the honor of promoting some of the best content – comics or otherwise – in my entire twenty year career (including my press years) and I’m so lucky to call so many of you friends,” said Singh. “And to every person at [BOOM! Studios] – thank you for warmly embracing me, supporting me and, most importantly, slapping me upside the head when I needed it. I can’t wait to see what you all accomplish and I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.”

– The subscription podcast service SiriusXM will now be working alongside Marvel Entertainment on a slate of exclusive podcasts. First on this list is a new narrative series, Marvel’s Wastelanders, which follows a group of elderly superheroes in the world of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven’s “Old Man Logan.” The team, comprised of Old Man Star-Lord (Peter Quill), Grey Widow (Natasha Romanov), Old Man Hawkeye (Clint Barton) and Old Man Wolverine (Logan Howlett), will make their debut in 2021. SiriusXM will also feature the podcast Marvel/Method, an interview series conducted by the artist Method Man, as well as Wolverine: The Long Night, This Week in Marvel, Marvel’s Declassified, Marvel’s Pull List and Women of Marvel.

– Marvel and Square Enix also announced the first story DLC for the Avengers video game, Operation: Kate Bishop – Taking AIM, will be released on December 8, 2020. On top of adding the female Hawkeye (voiced by Ashly Burch) as a playable character, the DLC will also introduce the Super Adaptoid as a new foe for gamers to contend with. You can watch the trailer for the DLC here, and a deeper dive into what the free update will add — as well as a sneak peek at what will appear in Clint Barton’s DLC, Future Imperfect — here.

– The previously announced TV adaptation of “DMZ” by Ava DuVernay and Roberto Patino, will now be released as a four-part HBO Max limited series. The Vertigo comic series by Brian Wood and Riccardo Burchielli followed a journalist living in a near-future USA embroiled in a second Civil War, with Manhattan Island as the titular de-militarized zone. The series stars Rosario Dawson and Benjamin Bratt. Wood will be presumably not involved, following allegations of sexual assault from Tess Fowler and Laura Hudson in 2013 and 2019: Hudson has been working on the show as one of its writers.

The Walking Dead season 10 is officially set to return on Feburary 28 for the first of its last six episodes. AMC+ users will receive episode 17 early on February 25. Episodes 17 to 22 will also feature the introduction of brand new cast members Robert Patrick (playing Mays) and Okea Eme-Akwari (Elijah). Patrick and Eme-Akwari will be the newest members on the show’s roster alongside Hilarie Burton Morgan, who portrays Negan’s wife Lucille. This six-episode extension on season 10 of The Walking Dead will lead into season 11, which is set to be the finale for the series.

Stargirl has its Jakeem Thunder, with Alkoya Brunson taking up the role. The teen actor has previously appeared in Malibu Rescue and Me, Myself and I. He will be playing Jakeem, the child possessed by the Thunderbolt, a genie currently living in a pen on Stargirl’s desk. The Thunderbolt previously served as the power behind JSA member Johnny Thunder, making Jakeem a legacy hero like Stargirl. Brunson is set to debut in 2021 during the show’s second season.

– Lastly, Kirby Morrow, the Canadian actor behind Goku in the Ocean Productions dub of Dragon Ball Z, Captain Dave Kleinman in Stargate Atlantis, and Cyclops in X-Men: Evolution, unfortunately passed away on September 18. Morrow was 47 years old: the cause of death was not disclosed. He is survived by his brother Casey Morrow, who said in a statement, “Kirby was a blessed and talented individual who brought joy to so many but also thrived off all your love and friendship. He lived for it and it fueled him every day.”
