– In order to finally stoke the fires of the X-Books once more and bring readers back to everyone’s favourite merry band of mutants, Marvel has announced the creative teams of “X-Men Blue” and “X-Men Gold”. And who did Marvel tap to reconnect the X-Men with the youth of today? Two old white guys, as always.

Helming “X-Men Gold” – which will focus on Kitty Pryde leading what is essentially the “Giant Size X-Men” team in Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Rachel Grey and Old Man Logan – is Marc Guggenheim and Ardian Syaf. “X-Men Blue”, on the other hand, will focus once again on the time-displaced original five and will be written and illustrated by Cullen Bunn and Jorge Molina.

Oh, and both books are double shipping, as if that wasn’t incentive enough.

– Meanwhile, in actually exciting Marvel news, an event in Italy has lead to our first look at a new Spider-Man: Homecoming poster. With rumours swirling that Marvel will attach a teaser to Rogue One, could we finally be seeing Marvel’s marketing campaign kicking in?

– Announcing the premiere date of January 26, this trailer for CW’s Riverdale once again promises the dark and steamy and even mysterious take on Archie Andrews that you never knew you wanted.

– It’s the most wonderful time of the year, people! Star Wars season! First up, check this interview with Michael Giacchinno in which he talks about having to score Rogue One in four weeks.

– Next, it looks like the runtime of Rogue One could have been revealed as 2 hours, 13 minutes. That’s just two minutes shy of The Force Awakens, for reference, in case anyone was worrying about how Lucasfilm plans to pack so much story into one film.

– Finally, this teaser announcing Rogue One‘s tickets going on sale could have let slip a major character reveal. Despite Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin really only appearing in one movie (not counting his seconds-long cameo in Revenge Of The Sith), he’s played a major role in the new canon. He even got a novel dedicated to his backstory and played a major role in Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel, both of which explored his involvement in the Death Star project. I’m just saying, we probably should have expected him to turn up.

Sworn to protect a world that hates and fears her, Alice W. Castle is a trans femme writing about comics. All things considered, it’s going surprisingly well. Ask her about the unproduced Superman films of 1990 - 2006. She can be found on various corners of the internet, but most frequently on Twitter: @alicewcastle
