– Kicking off, Marvel revealed yesterday the newest poster for the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, along with the news that the first trailer would drop sometime today. Tom Holland, the actor who plays Spider-Man in the MCU, hilariously ruined the poster debut on Instagram Live before Marvel debuted it. Tune in to Multiversity when the trailer drops! Infinity War debuts May 4, 2018.
– Wonder Woman actor Saïd Taghmaoui has exited his role in season two of FX’s Legion, teasing a big surprise coming on Twitter. Taghmaoui had signed on to play Amahl Farouk, The Shadow King, who was also played by Aubrey Plaza and Quinton Boisclair in various versions in the first season of the show. The role is set to be recast before season two premieres sometimes next year.
– Actress Dove Cameron revealed today she will be joining the fifth season of Agents of SHIELD in a currently unspecified role. The news was announced on social media with a video with Cameron and Agent Coulson actor Clark Gregg. Cameron is best known for various roles on the Disney Channel. Season five premieres this Friday, December 1st.
– IDW has doubled down again in response to a fan to the news of the cancellation of “Scarlett’s Strike Force.” This follows writer Aubrey Sitterson’s comments on September 11th and the death threats and controversy that followed. IDW has continued to claim the series has been cancelled due to low sales, although the FOC for the first issue of the series is not until December 5th. IDW has done very little to promote the comic and has not permitted Sitterson to be interviewed or even promote the comic. The all-female “G.I. Joe” team will end after issue #3.
– Artist Dustin Nguyen tweeted out a piece of fan art he created for a proposed cover of a “Robin: Earth One” graphic novel with his “Descender” co-collaborator Jeff Lemire. The next “Earth One” OGN due out is “Green Lantern: Earth One” next year with the second volume of “Wonder Woman: Earth One” following.
– It has been announced Daphne and Velma, of Scooby-Doo, fame will be getting a live-action film called Daphne and Velma. Sarah Jeffery has been cast as Daphne Blake and Sarah Gilman as Velma Dinkley, with the film looking for a 2018 direct-to-video release date. Jinkeys!
– The legal case of the copyright of the term “comic con” began the 10-day trial yesterday in the US District Court in San Diego. The dispute between San Diego Comic-Con International and Salt Lake Comic Con has been ongoing since 2014, and by the end of it could have lasting ramifications for the naming of pop culture events across America.
– New Yorker and Spectator cartoonist The Surreal McCoy is putting out a new graphic novel called “The Wolf of Baghdad” about her Iraqi-Jewish upbringing. The project is a wordless project set to a musical soundtrack and is being funded by the British Arts Council. You can find more information about the project from its website here.
– Finally, the first trailer for Accident Man, a direct to DVD and digital movie from Sony based on the UK-comic series “Toxic” by Pat Mills (one of the original Judge Dredd creators) and Tony Skinner. The film is R-rated and stars Scott Adkins who plays the title character. You can find the trailer here and see the movie when it debuts February 6th, 2018.
