'Demon Days: Blood Feud' #1

– Marvel have announced “Demon Days: Blood Feud” #1 by Peach Momoko. The comic will tie up the current arc in the “Momoko-verse,” as Mariko Yashida’s mesmerizing adventure comes to an end. The title’s decription reads, “At the end of the road, Mariko will finally meet the one who’s been hunting her: a silver-clad swordswoman named Ogin, who’s also Mariko’s sister!” Marvel also announced “Demon Days Treasury Edition,” which collects all five “Demon Days” one-shots. “Demon Days: Blood Feud” will be available in March, with the trade paperback following in April.

– Via Newsarama, Oni Press has announced a trilogy of “Rick and Morty” parody comics, the first of which, “Rick and Morty Presents: HeRICKtics of Rick,” by Amy Chu and her son Alexander Chang, with art from Sarah Stern, and lettering from Crank!, riffs on Dune. Then in March, two more movie parody stories will drop, starting with “Rick and Morty Presents: Morty’s Run,” a parody of classic sci-fi movie Logan’s Run, written by Ivan Cohen with art from Marc Ellerby and Leonardo Ito, and letters by Crank! The third story, also launching in March, is a four-issue limited series titled “Rick and Morty: Infinity Hour,” a Star Wars-inspired “prequel” written by Maggs Visaggio, with art from Marc Ellerby, colors by Leonardo Ito, and letters from Crank! “Rick and Morty Presents: HeRICKtics of Rick” will launch on January 26, with “Morty’s Run” and “Infinity Hour” #1 both available on March 2, 2022.

– Via ICv2, Seven Seas has picked up the print license for “Tokyo Revengers,” by Ken Wakui, and will publish the manga in oversized, two-in-one omnibus editions. “Tokyo Revengers” follows a former gang member, Takemichi Hanagaki, who learns that his middle-school girlfriend and her little brother were killed by his old gang, the Manji Gang. Shortly afterward, he develops the ability to move backward and forward in time. The manga is 24 volumes long and still ongoing, with Kodansha Comics publishing the series digitally. The first volume is slated for May 2022 and for $22.99. Barnes & Noble is also publishing an exclusive edition.

– Via the Kitsap Sun, Washington-based publisher Arledge Comics received a national grant for businesses that support LGBTQ people of color. The company received the Human Rights Campaign and Showtime “Queer to Stay” small business grant. The goal of the grant is to ensure that the small businesses that represent and serve the LGBTQ community continue to stay afloat during the pandemic. Money from the grant made it possible to pay artists to work on new titles, as well as get reprints of almost all current titles. Jordaan Arledge, the publisher’s founder, said the administrative team was able to get paid for the first time in a long time thanks to the grant.

– Lucasfilm revealed The Book of Boba Fett will run for seven episodes beginning Wednesday December 29, 2021. Two new posters, respectively featuring Boba Fett and Fennic Shand were also unveiled, along with two new TV spots with some of the first footage from the forthcoming series. – Meanwhile, Variety reports Lucasfilm have cast Ivanna Sakhno (Pacific Rim: Uprising) in the Disney+ series Ahsoka. Sakhno will star opposite of Rosario Dawson in an unknown role, thought to be a new character created for the series. She joins Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who was recently announced as playing the Star Wars: Rebels character Sabine Wren. Ahsoka is currently in production.

– Via THR, Sony Pictures Entertainment exec Amy Pascal announced another Spider-Man trilogy is in the works, which will be produced by both Sony and Marvel. While the trade journal noted there were no “official” plans at this stage, it indicates “the studio has a strong relationship with [Tom] Holland and [Kevin] Feige and hopes to continue their collaboration.” Spider-Man: No Way Home brings the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony’s two Spider-Man franchises together through the film’s many returning stars, including Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Thomas Hayden Church as Sandman, Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, and Jamie Foxx as Electro. Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theaters on December 17.

– Apple TV+ released a trailer for the upcoming Peanuts special, For Auld Lang Syne. The trailer sees Lucy reeling from her grandmother not showing up for Christmas. To help prove how lovable she is, Lucy decides to throw an extravagant New Year’s Eve party. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown reflects on past New Year’s resolutions. For Auld Lang Syne was written by Alex Galatis, Scott Montgomery and Clay Kaytis, who also directed the special. It premieres December 10, 2021 on Apple TV+. You can check out the trailer here.

– Via Deadline, Peter Landesman (Concussion) will adapt and direct the Scout Comics series “The Recount” into a feature film for Don Handfield’s Motor Content and Jonathan Kadin’s KadinCreative. Nick Jones Jr. will co-write with Landesman. In the series, the U.S. President is assassinated by one of his own security detail, and a Secret Service agent must then protect the Vice President at all costs from a vast, dangerous conspiracy.

– Finally, Marvel announced that Nick Fury would be joining Fortnite. In addition to the Nick Fury outfit, players can grab three accessory items as well. Players can purchase the Outfit (+ Back Bling), Pickaxe, and Glider individually or as part of the Nick Fury Bundle. This bundle additionally includes the Quinjets in Flight Loading Screen. The bundle is available now.
