In case you missed it, Disney released the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Oni Press named Hunter Gorinson President and Publisher, and cartoonist Aline Kominsky-Crumb has passed away at the age of 74.

– In this week’s Publishers Weekly children’s books rights report, it was announced that Scholastic/Graphix had acquired rights to “Bone: More Tall Tales,” a sequel to 2010’s “Bone: Tall Tales.” Series creator Jeff Smith will write alongside Tom Sniegoski in a story that sees the Bone cousins sharing stories around a campfire with a group of scouts. These stories are illustrated by Stan Sakai, Katie Cook, Matt Smith, Scott Brown, and Smith himself. It’s scheduled for a Fall 2023 release.
– Marvel Unlimited launched a four-part arc in this week’s “Spider-Verse Unlimited Infinity Comic” #26, starring Earth-982’s Spider-Girl (May Parker). Written by Stephanie Williams with art by Nathan Stockman, the story sees May look after her younger brother Benjy on a Friday night. It is the second storyline by Williams to begin this week, following the six-part “Marvel’s Voices” arc ‘Family SNIKT.’ You can read the first issue here.
– Paramount released the trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, giving us our first glimpses of the Maximals, the animal-themed Transformers fans would know from 1996’s Beast Wars series. The studio has also revealed new cast members Peter Dinklage and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, who will provide voices for principal villains Scourge and Nightbird respectively. The announcement also reveals the voice cast includes Liza Koshy (Arcee), John DiMaggio (Stratosphere), David Sobolov (Rhinox/Battletrap), Cristo Fernández (Wheeljack), and Tobe Nwigwe (Reek). Rise of the Beasts is slated to hit theaters June 9, 2023.
– The official Disney+ Twitter account has announced that The Mandalorian (and Grogu) will return March 1. No other details have been announced, with the exception of it being exclusively on the streamer.
– Garth Ennis and Goran Sudžuka’s “Marjorie Finnegan, Temporal Criminal” will be getting a film adaptation from AWA Studios. Originally released in 2021 as an eight-issue limited series, the series follows the titular time thief as she steals treasures through history and evades the Temporal PD. Ennis will executive produce alongside Ken F. Levin. Venom and Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer will direct with Catya McMullen (Georgia Mertching is Dead) writing the screenplay. LuckyChap Entertainment will produce alongside AWA Studios.
– In more Ennis-related news, Rosemarie DeWitt (The Staircase), Rob Benedict (Supernatural), and Elliot Knight (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II) will join the cast of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys, starting with the show’s fourth season. So far, the only confirmed role is DeWitt, who will portray the mother of series regular Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid).
– AfterShock series “The Normals” is getting a TV adaptation from Australian broadcaster SBS and the Melbourne-based Werner Film Productions. The comic, written by Supernatural and Criminal Minds screenwriter Adam Glass with art by Dennis Calero (“X-Men Noir”), follows Jack, a father fighting for a family that may not actually be real. Louise Fox (Glitch) is attached to both write and showrun. Rive Gauche Television (itself part of AfterShock Media) will distribute the show worldwide.
– Finally, Deadline reports Michael Gandolfini has been cast in Marvel upcoming Daredevil: Born Again. It is unknown who he would play, although the site states he might be “an ambitious guy from Staten Island referred to as Liam.” Michael Gandolfini is the son of the late James Gandolfini, and is best known for playing his father’s character in The Sopranos movie prequel The Many Saints of Newark. Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney+ in 2024.
