In case you missed it over the weekend, Saladin Ahmed and Minkyu Jung are the new creative team on “The Magnificent Ms. Marvel,” Apple is set to launch “Peanuts” series, specials and short films on their streaming service, Erica Henderson and Kyle Starks are teaming for “Assassin Nation” over at Image Comics and Skybound Entertainment, and IDW is launching a four-issue weekly Ghostbusters event to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film. Also, we updated our ongoing story about “Border Town,” noting that DC/Vertigo have cancelled issues #5 and #6 of the series and made every issue of the book returnable.

– Marvel have teased the upcoming story ‘Hunted,’ which will take place in the “Amazing Spider-Man” title written by Nick Spencer and drawn by Humberto Ramos starting in March. The teaser depicts Kraven the Hunter sitting in chair with various Spidey-related characters’ heads mounted on a wall behind him. You can check out the teaser here, and more details this week when Marvel releases their March 2019 solicitations.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse producer Amy Pascal revealed new details on the already planned sequel of the critically-acclaimed animated film, as well as its Spider-Women spin-off. Pascal, talking to Vanity Fair, said that the Into the Spider-Verse sequel is already in the works and will be directed by Joaquim Dos Santos (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and written by David Callaham (Wonder Woman 1984, Zombieland 2). The sequel is set to focus on the Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy romance written out of the first film. Pascal also revealed that starring with Stacy in the Spider-Women spin-off (written by Bek Smith and directed by Lauren Montgomery) will be Cindy Moon (Silk) and Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman). Into the Spider-Verse is in theaters now.

– In casting news, as well as Sony Spider-Man news, Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising) has been cast to star opposite Jared Leto in the upcoming Morbius, The Living Vampire movie. She is set to play Martine Bancroft who in the comics was engaged to Dr. Michael Morbius, and who is accidentally responsible for him becoming a vampire. The film is being directed by Daniel Espinosa and currently has no release date.

– The final chapter of the PS4 Marvel’s Spider-Man video game DLC “The City That Never Sleeps” will launch on December 21st. The final chapter of “City That Never Sleeps” is called “Silver Lining,” and finishes the story of Silver Sable taking on Hammerhead. Three new suits will also be available in the DLC. – Image Comics is publishing the third volume of Tom Parkinson-Morgan’s (whose online name is Abbadon) popular webcomic “Kill Six Billion Demons” this March. The series follows a multiverse in chaos and centers on a sorority sister named Allison Ruth who is gifted the artifact the Key of Kings. The third volume goes on sale at comic shops on March 6th and everywhere else March 12th.

– Scholastic released their summer 2019 solicitations, and while featuring Raina Telgemeier’s upcoming “Share Your Smile,’ it was also revealed that Jeff Smith is doing a second picture book called “Finders Keepers!” featuring the characters of his popular series “Bone.” You can check out the full solicitations here.

– The digital comic platform InkyPen launches on the Nintendo Switch today, and has added comics from Dark Horse, Archie Comics and Papercutz, as well as a number of popular webcomics to its platform. This is in additon to the previously announced IDW, Valiant, Humanoids, Dynamite and Titan Comics they were revealed to carry. The subscription to the platform is $7.99 a month.

DC revealed that all of its future animated movies will have same-day release on their DC Universe streaming service. The first that will fall into this new system is Reign of the Supermen which will be available for sale digitally on January 15th, and comes out on January 29th on Blu-Ray and on DC Universe. DC’s other 2019 digital movies are Justice League vs The Fatal Five and Batman: Hush.

David Lee Roth, lead singer of Van Halen announced in an interview with Vulture that he’s working on a graphic novel. The book is based on Roth’s time in Japan and a short film he starred in five years ago in Japan called Tokyo Story in which Roth’s character murders three poker players. Roth stated the OGN would be the first “graphic novel with a full soundtrack.”

– Finally, on Friday we asked in our Reader Poll: What was the best comics-related video game of 2018? Fairly overwhelmingly those of you who responded said that the aforementioned Marvel’s Spider-Man game on the PS4 was the best comic-related video game of 2018 with over 80% of the vote. In second place with only 9 percent was Dragon Ball FighterZ.
