– Dynamite Entertainment have announced “The Six Million Dollar Man,” a reimagining of the 1970s TV sensation of the same name. The series will be brought to life by the creative team of writer Christopher Hastings (“The Unbelievable Gwenpool”) and artist David Hahn (“Batman ’66”). The first issue will be colored by Roshan Kurchiyanil and lettered by Ariana Maher. “The Six Million Dollar Man” will still be set in the 1970s, with the first story taking Colonel Steve Austin to Japan to team up with Japenese secret agent Niko Abe in order to prevent a madman from enacting his plan for revenge on the United States. However, Steve Austin encounters more than just the samurai and the KGB when he arrives because his cybernetically altered body starts to fail him. “The Six Million Dollar Man” #1 is set for release in March 2019.

– Artist Ibrahim Moustafa (“The Flash”) will be joining writer Jeff Parker (“Aquaman”) on “James Bond Origin” from issue #7 of the series. In addition to a new interior artist, the series will have a new primary cover artist too in Dan Panosian (“X-Men”). Finally, issue #7 will also be the start of a new arc for the series called ‘Russian Ruse.’ You can view the cover art as well as some sketches and preview pages for the issue here. “James Bond Origin” #7 is set for release on March 13, 2019.

– Five of this year’s films featured on the 2018 Black List have had their pivotal scenes adapted into comics at Vulture. For those who aren’t aware of the Black List, it is a list of the “most-liked unproduced screenplays” from Hollywood this year as voted for by 300 studio and production company executives. The list features a huge variety of potential films, from the story of the world’s first openly transgender high school prom queen to a freedom fighter who is sent back in time to kill a social media influencer but ends up falling in love with him instead. The five artists involved are Box Brown (“André the Giant: Life and Legend”), Elsa Charretier (“The Unstoppable Wasp”), Jorge Corona (“Middlewest”), Sonny Liew (“The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye”), and Tillie Walden (“On a Sunbeam”). You can see all of their comic book artwork here.

– Marvel Comics have announced that “Avengers” #16 and #17, “Asgardians of the Galaxy” #7 and “Thor” #11 will all be branded as the prelude to April’s ‘War of the Realms.’ The Avengers will have to battle an army of the undead all aiming to claim the title of Lord of the Damned, while the Asgardians encounter Ego the Living Planet, and Thor and Lady Freyja fight to protect Midgard from an initial strike by the Dark Elves. The aforementioned titles will be released in March: we’ll have more on Marvel’s March solicitations in the new year, but you can read them now here.

– Netflix has renewed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina for a second season. The second season will consist of 16 episodes, split into two halves with production starting next year. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the showrunner and chief creative officer of Archie Comics said that he was “thrilled” to be able to continue to tell Sabrina’s adventures with the “incredible cast and crew, led by the unstoppable Kiernan Shipka.” The second half of the first season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will premiere on April 5, 2019.

– The book Timeless Laxman, which tells stories from the life of the late Indian cartoonist, R.K. Laxman was released in the country yesterday. Timeless Laxman was written by Laxman’s daughter-in-law Usha Srinivas Laxman and features many of his most prominent works, including The Common Man. Published in The Time of India, The Common Man was a character who allowed Laxman to chronicle the socio-political history of India.

The launch of the book was attended by Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, who announced the Common Man will be adapted across multiple platforms like VR and social media. The new animated version of Laxman’s character, which is a joint venture between RK IPR Management and animation studio Assemblage Entertainment, will also appear in merchandising, toys, collectibles, radio, live events, and advertising.

– Lucasfilm have announced the new Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures toy line (based on the animated micro-series) will be packaged with comics retelling pivotal events from the films, relevant to the characters they’re bundled with. The packaging for the toys is circular, so expect the comics to be bended.

– Finally, Bones studio have announced My Hero Academia season 4 will begin airing in October 2019.
