– Congratulations are in order for Jeff Lemire and Scott Snyder, who scored a film adaptation of “AD: After Death” at Sony. The series, which saw its first chapter released last month, is a three part series of oversized issues. Good job, boys.
– A new “Iron Fist” ongoing has been announced by Marvel, written by Ed Brisson and illustrated by Mike Perkins. This is a weird announcement, considering there was another series “Iron Fists” by Kaare Andrews and Afu Chan earlier this year. Andrews has taken to Twitter, assuring fans that it is still coming.
– Si Spurrier is joining Rob Williams for January’s “Suicide Squad” issue, which is a part of the “Justice League Vs. Suicide Squad” crossover event. Whether or not Spurrier is going to be on the book going forward is not known.
– IDW, sensing that all the comic companies were getting more hipster points than they were, are opening an office in Portland, OR, which will host Woodworks, a new imprint run by Dirk Wood, as well as a new magazine. Get me a Voodoo doughnut, folks.
– A new X-Men film is filming in 2017, but it is unsure which X-film it is, exactly.
– Archie is teasing a new Art and Franco ‘Little’ title from the publisher next year. Color me very interested.
– Powerless the sitcom set in the DC Universe, will debut on NBC in February, on Thursday nights at 8:30pm. This will be a very, very interesting experiment into how much good will DC TV has going for it.
– Richard E. Grant’s role in Logan had not been revealed as of yesterday; well, here we go: he is playing Dr. Zander Rice, which continues with the X-23 storyline that seemingly will be at the center of the film.
– And, finally, there will be a Spiderman/Venom event next year. Excited?
