– I really don’t like to include rumors/speculation as part of the Rundown, because I tend to think that they don’t belong in a ‘news’ article, but today had two really fascinating rumors that, due to the source, might be closer to news than others.

Bleeding Cool is reporting that Greg Rucka has replaced Marguerite Bennett as the writer on the post-Rebirth “Wonder Woman.” Now, neither writer has been officially announced as working on the book, but BC’s Rich Johnston has a pretty solid track record on DC news/rumors, and so I’m more likely to believe him.

Similarly, Johnston believes that at Emerald City Comic Con will be the site of a sort of mini-Vertigo ‘Rebirth’ set of announcements, including a bit of rebranding of the Vertigo line. The idea appears to be to reinvigorate the line with updated, more mature takes on certain DC characters, much like how Swamp Thing and Constantine were once the sole property of Vertigo. The piece concludes with the suggestion that the long rumored Gerard Way/Becky Cloonan “Doom Patrol” will anchor the line.

While both of these have their pluses and minuses, both are certainly interesting announcements and promise that this will be anything but a boring few months for DC fans.

– Zach Snyder’s tone-deaf tour continues, now talking about how people object to his ‘growing up’ of the character. It pains me to say that more people will have seen his Superman films than have ever read a Superman comic. Ick.

– Marvel has been very quietly cancelling books lately, with “Angela: Queen of H’el” and “Howling Commandos of S.H.I.E.L.D.” containing messages about their cancellations in the actual issues, which is something I’ve never heard of before. Very, very unusual.

– The AV Club put together this nice handy list of Daredevil Season 2 Easter Eggs, just in time for Easter. Enjoy!

– Peter Serafinowicz will be playing the Tick on the new Amazon reboot. Spoon!

– BOOM! is saving its own big announcement this weekend, leaving a spot in their June solicitations for a book ‘announced at WonderCon.” Any guesses?

Could there be a Captain Britain TV show on the way? It appears that might be the case.

– Mike Mignola’s style is such a refined and idiosyncratic one at this point, that there is no doubt that certain pieces – like his variant to “Ragnarok” #8 – are the work of his hand.

– One of the underrated elements of Supergirl has been the wonderful way that Kara’s adoption has been portratyed, and an adoptive mom has noticed, and written an open letter to the show thanking them for doing so. It is a very sweet and optimistic read.

– What could be better than Ben Affleck as Batman? Ben Affleck as both Batman AND Superman!

– And, finally, what the fuck?
