Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– A new image from Wonder Woman has been released, this time featuring Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), Antiope (Robin Wright), and Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli). This is the first time we’ve seen other Amazonians from the film and, I must admit, they look pretty good.
– Though most likely a joke, Jonathan Hickman tweeted out something about being contacted by DC editorial to work on something involving ‘Rebirth.’ Despite all signs pointing to it being just a goof on Hickman’s part, Newsarama worked up a piece on it. No one would be happier than me if this turns out to be true.
– Start saving your pennies folks, as IDW has announced a Bill Sienkiewicz Artist Edition of “New Mutants” #18-31, as well as “X-Men Unlimited” #43. Great googly moogly.
– Despite the less than positive critical response to Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, both Ben Affleck and Frank Miller seem to want more Bat-films. Affleck confirmed that he has been working on something with DC CCO Geoff Johns, and Miller expressed interest in seeing Carrie Kelley on the big screen at some point. Best of luck to both of these (probably) doomed ideas.
– Some details about Jill Thompson’s new, painted Wonder Woman story, subtitled “A Very Selfish Princess” have begun to emerge. The series will debut digitally before being collected in print, and will feature Diana as a young princess, not yet Wonder Woman. This looks fantastic.
– The longest running Valiant title, “X-O Manowar,” is wrapping up with issue #50, and writer Robert Venditti is, presumably, moving on to new things at Valiant.
– The Star Wars: The Force Awakens deleted scenes look so. dope. you. guys.
– From the files of ‘TV shows you aren’t watching,’ Powers has a trailer for season 2, and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man (?) was renewed for a second season as well.
– Much like it did with the New 52, DC will be publishing a ‘Rebirth’ omnibus, collecting “DC Universe Rebirth” #1 and all the ‘Rebirth’ #1 issues in December.
– And, finally, remember how yesterday I wrote about a potential Captain Britain TV show? Turns out that was just a pitch from a producer, not anything Marvel is working on. Oh well.
