Good morning boys and girls, and happy August to you all! Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. I’m filling in for David this morning, but make sure to send any potential articles for the Rundown to david@multiversitycomics.com. Now, onto the news!

More details are emerging about the upcoming CW series featuring the Flash, spinning out of Arrow Season 2. Barry Allen will be featured in three (8, 9 and 20) episodes of Season 2, and all three will be overseen by co-creators Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, as well as DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns. It was also revealed that the classic Flash suit would be part of the show, already making the series far aesthetically superior to Smallville. Arrow returns on October 9, meaning that a Christmas-time debut of Barry Allen seems likely.

The Frazer Irving drawn cover for the upcoming, though still unsolicited, “Annhilator” #1, written by Grant Morrison, has been released. Gotta love some Frazer!

It appears that Katana will be popping up in Beware the Batman soon – like, Saturday soon!

-In this week’s issue of “Ten Grand,” J. Michael Straczynski teased another new Joe’s Comics book – “Cemetery Cats.”

-While previously announced as covers for the Criterion Collection, Mike Mignola and Guy Davis will be selling limited edition prints of their interpretations of Guillermo del Toro films Cronos and The Devil’s Backbone through the excellent poster site Mondo. CBR has all the info here.

-And finally, Jedi News claims that Star Wars Episode VIII will begin pre-production at Pinewood Studios later this year, and will be produced under the company name of Foodles Production Ltd. There is a history of Star Wars films using production company pseudonyms to avoid gathering crowds and snooping reporters.
