Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– NBC has placed a series order for Powerless, a new workplace comedy that takes place within the DC Universe. Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, and Danny Pudi are all set to star in the series that has teased the appearance of at least one ‘major’ DC character, although the identity has yet to be revealed.
– It looks more and more like Supergirl might be moving over to the CW for next season. To that news, I have only one statement: let’s just get a second season. I don’t care where it plays.
– The Defenders Netflix series will film back to back with Jessica Jones season 2, but no start date appears on the books for either series. I would be shocked if one of these did not air by the end of 2017, however.
– Could a Booster Gold movie be in the works from screenwriter Zack Stentz (X-Men: First Class) and director Greg Berlanti (executive producer for all the CW DC shows)? My goodness I hope so.
– Speaking of DC films, the release date for Green Lantern Corps has been slightly shuffled, settling in at July 24, 2020, a solid 3.5 years into the Trump Presidency.
– Will the villain of Justice League be Steppenwolf? Woof.
– Marve’s new Wasp has been revealed, and…meh.
– Pre-CGI superhero jumping is amazing.
– And, finally, who would’ve thunk that Van Jensen would be the first ‘comic book ambassador‘ for the United States?
