– The Russo Bros, directors of Captain America: Civil War, who are also helming the next two Avengers films, have announced that they are renaming the previously titled Avengers: Infinity War Parts I and II. What they are being named, we don’t know yet, but they said that, because the films are so different, it is unfair to lump them together. Plus, it makes it look less like you’re paying twice for one film. Release dates for the films still seem very, very far away.

Two new character descriptions for Legends of Tomorrow season 2 have appeared online, and both are quite interesting:

A male in his late-20s to mid-30s is being sought to play a guy who grew up in the shadow of his World War II hero grandfather and has used a Han Solo-like facade to conceal his insecurity — until, that is, the development of super powers enables him to live up to his family legacy.

Also being cast for “Legends” Season 2 is the female member of an elite paramilitary team living in the 1940s. An African-American, she is scrutinized in her time for both her gender and race and thus has worked twice as hard to be a perfect soldier. That said, she blames herself for — and aims to avenge — the death of a team member for whom she had repressed feelings.

The first one doesn’t ring a bell too specifically for me, but the second sounds a lot like Lady Blackhawk, doesn’t it?

– Yesterday was May 4, a day known around the world as Star War Day (May the 4th be with you). Personally, I don’t celebrate May 4th as Star Wars Day because, like Earth Day, Star Wars Day is every day. But, there was still some cool stuff announced yesterday. First of all, that rumor about The Force Awakens starting with Luke’s hand falling through space? That was actually planned. Also, the Lego Star Wars game will feature a number of pretty interesting backstories for some of the characters in The Force Awakens. And, finally, Lin-Manuel Miranda and JJ Abrams sang the song they wrote for Maz Kanata’s cantina thing on the steps of Hamilton.

– Marvel has released two very mysterious ‘classified’ teasers for “Civil War II” tie-ins, called ‘The Fallen’ and ‘The Accused.”

– Josh Boone, writer/director of the upcoming New Mutants film, took to Instagram and put out a number of character images, perhaps as teasers for who is in the film: initally, the image was of Karma, Magik, Cannonball, Sunspot and Wolfsbane, and then subsequent images of Magik, Wolfsbane, Karma, Cannonball, Sunspot and Warlock. We will (hopefully) find out more about the film soon enough.

– Speaking of the Fox X-films, Olivia Munn turned down the role of Wade Wilson’s girlfriend in Deadpool to play Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse. Just think – we could’ve seen Munn pegging Reynolds.

– Jim Steranko is doing some variant covers for Marvel books, specifically books involving Captain America. This is a good, good thing.

– Kevin Smith will be back to direct an episode of The Flash next season. Speedy weedies?

August 2 will see the Blu-Ray release of Batman: The Killing Joke animated film.

– And finally, the first appearance of Kenan Kong, “New Super-Man” star, in this week’s “Batman/Superman” #32, is going for almost $20 on eBay already. Hope you stocked up, speculators!
