Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– There is great rejoicing in Burbank tonight, as CBS has ordered Supergirl to series. The show, starring Melissa Benoist, will be set in the same universe as Arrow, The Flash, and then as yet un-named Atom/Captain Cold/Dead Black Canary spinoff, rumored to be called Legends of Tomorrow. DC has been absolutely killing it on the TV side of things lately, and hopefully Supergirl continues their strong showing.
– In other comics on TV news, iZombie has been picked up for a second season on the CW, and Powers has been renewed for a second season on the PlayStation network. The Sony-owned network will have a slightly different program, however, as showrunner Charlie Huston has left Powers.
– Last week, Gerry Conway claimed that DC had recently changed its payment structure for paying out royalties to creators on “derivative” characters adapted to other media. Well, co-publishers Dan DiDio and Jim Lee have addressed the concern in a letter to creators. Long story short: they are working on a “new system” that will lead to more frequent, and larger, payouts. Whether or not this was guilt based remains to be seen, but the end result is a good thing.
– Pardon my dismissal of everything else, but fuck all that other shit: there’s a new Daniel Clowes original graphic novel, “Patience,” a ‘ “indescribable psychedelic science-fiction love story’ is due from Fantagraphics in March 2016. Is it March yet?
– The new “Bizarro” series has been described as a “buddy road trip comedy” between Bizarro and Jimmy Olsen. Yeah, that sounds pretty dope.
– Preacher continues to build its cast, as Derek Wilson (Rectify) and Jamie Anne Allman (The Killing) will be series regulars, playing Betsy and Donny Schenk.
– Emily VanCamp, aka Agent Sharon Carter, will be back for Captain America: Civil War, along with 80% of all working actors.
– Suicide Squad will, at least partially, take place in Midway City, home to such characters as the Doom Patrol and Hawkman. Does this mean that more DC characters might be popping up in the film?
– Hey, Hawkeye? Shut the fuck up.
– It is incredible how much visuals help, but even a DCAU-version of the Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer still more or less sucks.
