Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– When DC’s ‘Rebirth’ initiative started, multiple artist were announced for each book, presumably to give the double shipping titles some sense of consistency, but as Newsarama reports, two of those books are getting fill ins and/or help on their third issues. “Superman” #3 will now be drawn by Jorge Jiminez (announced artist of “Super Sons,” starring Superman co-star Jonathan Kent), and “Green Lanterns” #3 will now be illustrated by – deep breath – Robson Rocha, Jay Leisten, Jack Herbert, Neil Edwards, Keith Champagne, Tom Derenick, and Tom Palmer. Whether this means that the original artists fell behind, or editorial needed quick changes made is anyone’s guess, but I think we all hoped for two months of properly solicited books, at the very least.
– Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who appeared in about eight seconds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be playing Vixen on this season of Legends of Tomorrow. As previously reported, this is not the Vixen from the CW Seed animated series or who appeared on Arrow, rather that character’s grandmother who, because time travel!, will be joining the team for their upcoming adventure. This is necessitated by Megalyn Echikunwoke, who plays Vixen in the aforementioned Arrow and animated series, has commitments that wouldn’t allow her to star in this full season. While this is a bit silly, the totem that Vixen uses has been passed down through generations, and so there is some precedent, I suppose.
– Although neither role has been announced, Spiderman: Homecoming recently added both Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) and Michael Mando )Better Call Saul) to the cast. It is being reported that Woodbine will be playing a villain, but no more details are known at this time.
– Let’s just get all the Justice League/Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice news out of the way in one fell swoop: JL will be ‘very’ influenced by Jack Kirby’s work (sure), you can spot Steppenwolf in the trailer for the ‘ultimate’ BvS cut, and that version of the film will hit theaters for one night only.
– Gotham has cast its Mario Falcone, son of crime boss Carmine Falcone, and it is The Punisher alum James Carpinello.
– [heavy breathing. heavy breathing]
– And, finally, despite not reading being able to read much Japanese, I think I might need to pick up the Japanese collected editions of “Spider-Verse” for Yusuke Murata’s covers. Wowzers.
