Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– Marvel has added yet another book to their ‘All-New, All-Different’ lineup with “Hercules” by Dan Abnett and Luke Ross are launching the book, which is positioning Herc as “the world’s first superhero.” That’s an interesting and fun take on the character, but it’s not Pak/Van Lente, so I’m not happy!
– Zack Snyder has some remarkably smug words about the DC Cinematic Universe, saying that he has “given everyone amazing access to our story, to me, and what we are doing.” Every time he opens his mouth, it makes me dread these films more and more.
– Rachel McAdams was asked about her potential role in a Doctor Strange film, and she both confirmed that she’s in discussions and also tossed a little Neil Gaiman love out there. Rumor has it that she might be playing Linda Carter, the Night Nurse, which might explain a certain Daredevil casting decision.
– Supergirl keeps adding new villains/guest stars, with the latest being Reactron, played by Sons of Anarchy alum Chris Browning.
– Magnetic Press has announced 10 new books to start their second year, including work by Logan Faeber and Larry Hama.
– Humble Bundle has yet another nice deal this week, focusing on comics about music – “Hip Hop Family Tree,” “Scott Pilgrim,” “Phonogram,” etc. This bundle also features a few non-comics books, and even some actual music. Check it out!
– Everyone’s favorite comic publisher, Bluewater, is now Stormfront! But don’t worry, nothing has changed, their first book is a Metallica biography.
– And, finally, just step on my heart Stephen Amell.
