– The success of the “Archie” relaunch had a whole lot to do with the art of Fiona Staples, who was only ever committed to doing the first three-issue arc of the book. Well, it looks as if the book will be in good hands: Annie Wu (“Hawkeye,” “Black Canary”) will be drawing issue #4, with newcomer Veronica Fish taking over for issues 5 and 6. This is an interesting decision, as it keeps the book with a more diverse creative team, but also allows for flexibility and a diversity of styles within the book. Plus, with Fish, they are getting a fresh talent before anyone else. Consider this a win for Archie.

– Marvel has teased a new character – Red Widow – who will debut in “Mockingbird: S.H.I.E.L.D. 50th Anniversary” #1 in September. It appears that she will be a regular part of Black Widow’s world going forward, especially featured in the new prose novel Black Widow: Forever Red.”

– In what can only be described as ‘joyous’ news, it appears that “Hip Hop Family Tree” has been optioned to be an animated series. We truly live in the best of all possible worlds.

– Supposedly, Evangeline Lilly has already been fitted for a Wasp costume. Maybe we’ll be seeing her in Captain America: Civil War, along with every other hero ever.

– The Ignatz Award nominees have been announced and, let me say, it is quite the list of nominees. Personally? I’m pulling for “Saint Cole.”

– The superhero team everyone has been clamoring for finally has their own iniseries again. No, not the Marvel Family, or the Fantastic Four – it’s the Santerians!

– The covers for “James Bond” #1 look pretty dope.

– The new Vertigo joint “The Sheriff of Baghdad” is now to be called “The Sheriff of Babylon.”

– And, finally, two stars of Suicide Squadtattooed” their co-stars/director. Uh huh.
