– DC has been locking up its talent to exclusive contracts since the announcement of ‘Rebirth.’ To name just a few: Steve Orlando, Peter Tomasi, Tom King, Joshua Williamson, Joelle Jones, Sean Gordon Murphy, Robson Rocha and Otto Schmidt have all been announced as exclusive signees since April. Well, yesterday the ranks expanded a little more, with James Tynion IV inking an exclusive deal. This was announced the same day that “Detective Comics” #940 was released, which is easily the biggest issue of Tynion’s career. Congrats, James!

– Scott Snyder, another DC exclusive creator (and mentor to Tynion) revealed that he would like to do a series staring Duke Thomas, the not-Robin Batman is currently training in the pages of “All-Star Batman.”

– There was a hope that, due to its naturally staggered release scheduled between Nicola Scott on the even issues and Liam Sharp on the odds, that “Wonder Woman” wouldn’t need a fill-in at any point in its first year. Well…psych. A special pre-Cheetah Barbara Minerva origin story, illustrated by Bilquis Everly, will appear in issue #8 instead of the solicited Scott illustrated issue. Whether this is a replacement for that story, or if Scott’s story will still run 12 issues, remains to be seen.

– The first look at Valiant’s live-action Ninjak project has surfaced and, by first look, I mean a shot of the character’s neck and shoulders. But hey, that looks pretty cool?

– Margot Robbie, star of Suicide Squad – and far from the worst thing about that cinematic abortion – will executive produce and star in a Harley Quinn solo film. The film, starring her, was already announced, but this fits in nicely with WB/DC’s recent desire to have their premier acting talent (Ben Affleck, for instance) also produce their own films.

– Speaking of Affleck, check out his ‘tactical’ Batsuit from Justice League, which sports some killer shades! If this is his tactical Batsuit, does that mean he’s wearing his formal Batsuit the rest of the time? His swim Batsuit? His pajama-lined Batsuit? His birthday Batsuit? Because, really, aren’t all of his Batsuits tactical ones?

– Part of “Faith” #3 takes place at a comic convention, and there are lots of creators who make guest appearances.

– Got your hopes up for a live-action Star Wars series? Lower your expectations, because it ain’t happening anytime soon.

– And, finally, I’m a huge John Lithgow fan, but this would’ve been bizarre.
