Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– The ‘winners’ or ‘students’ or however DC is identifying them of the second class of the DC Comics Writers Workshop have been announced and, while the names aren’t quite as famous as the last batch, it appears that DC’s definition of ‘new’ and mine might be a little off. “Negative Space” writer Ryan K. Lindsay, Owl Goingback (“Crota, Sealed With A Kiss”), Erica Harrell and Desirée Proctor (MTV’s Happyland), Al Letson (“Planetfall”), David Accampo (“Lost Angels”), Aaron Gillespie (“LadyDemon”), and Tony Patrick (“X’ed”). Over 1500 writers applied, and DC seems to have a pretty good idea of what they’re looking for, which is obvious when you see who was turned down.
– Rob Liefeld’s script for a “Youngblood” film has been released online. If this article gets 10 comments, Multiversity will stage a live reading of this in the New York area. I’m not joking.
– The second volume of DC/IDW’s “Star Trek/Green Lantern” series will hit shelves in December, from the returning creative team of Mike Johnson and Angel Hernandez. The first volume was a lot of fun, and I’m interested to see if this could lead to a sort of regular crossover event for years to come. It’s a great fit.
– In what may be the most obvious news ever reported on this site, Disney is planning Star Wars films past Episode IX’s 2021 release date.
– In what may be the most obvious statement ever reported on this site, the CEO of Warner Bros, Jeff Bewkes, said that the DC films have ‘room for improvement.’
– Stan Lee seemingly spends all day trying to get any sort of comics content on the screen, doesn’t he?
– Double Take is growing past its Night of the Living Dead tie-in comics to a whole new universe of stories starting in December.
– Joss Whedon and a bunch of the Avengers don’t like Donald Trump. Plus, we may get to see the Hulk’s dick if Hillary Clinton wins the election.
– And, finally, IGN has made a video featuring every X-Man ever.
