Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– The Walking Dead debuts in about a month, and the show keeps stocking up for season 6. Jesus, aka Paul Monroe, is being added to the show, to be played by Tom Payne (Luck). Rumor has it that, before the end of the season, we will also see Negan, although no one has been cast in the role just yet.
– In 2007, Marvel announced a Luke Cage miniseries by animator Genndy Tartakovsky. The deal, supposedly, was that Tartakovsky was in for the series, as long as he had no real schedule/timeline. Well, it turns out that the series is pencilled and partially inked, but Tartakovsky has lost touch with Marvel. Can someone help the dude out, because this series looks nice.
– Supposedly, Legends of Tomorrow is adding Valentine Vostok, a member of both Checkmate and the Doom Patrol in the comics. Stephanie Corneliussen, late of Mr. Robot, has been cast to play the part, and will appear in ‘several’ episodes.
– Speaking of DC TV, despite not having a monthly Supergirl series right now, the company is reprinting the New 52 “Supergirl” #1 for a dollar just a few days ahead of the Supergirl debut.
– This is some serious fan art, as a a reddit user named ‘AshsEvilHand’ made a “Crisis on Infinite Earths” homage, with many of DC’s live action series/films represented, essentially creating a live-action multiverse.
– File this under “huh?” A Sound of Thunder, a metal band, is teaming up with Valiant to make a concept record based around the character of Shadowman.
– In the vein of “Don’t do what Donny Don’t Does,” the sequel to Independence Day is getting a comics prequel.
– Humble Bundle and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund have teamed up to bring a collection of banned and challenged books, including “Bone” and “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.”
– And, finally, help Van Jensen get his DC house ad up to date with the #VanBeard initiative.
