Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Gene Luen Yang, cartoonist best known for “American Born Chinese,” “Boxers and Saints,” and “Secret Coders” (as well as writer of DC’s “New Super-Man” series), has been awarded a MacArthur Fellowship, also known as a ‘Genius Grant,’ along with 22 others. For those unaware, the MacArthur Foundation grants individuals a hefty sum of money (currently $625,000 paid over a few years) to continue exploring their passions in the fields of arts, science, and more. Past winners with comics ties include Allison Bechdel Ta-Nehisi Coates. Congratulations, Gene, and to the rest of this year’s class.
– “Postal,” the Image/Top Cow book by Matt Hawkins, Bryan Hill, and Isaac Goodhart, is in development at Hulu. Congrats to all involved!
– Could Mephisto be showing up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
– Archaia has started rolling out their NYCC news, and the first bit of it is a continuation of their “Jim Henson: The Storyteller” series. ‘Giants,’ a four issue miniseries, will featuring work from Brandon Dayton, Jared Cullum, Feifei Ruan, and the first issue will be written and illustrated by Conor Nolan. It drops in December
– I personally don’t know anyone who plays DC Universe Online, but if you do, big changes are afoot.
– Marvel is trying to get ahead of the curve in the field of ‘stupid gimmick books,’ so look out for connect the dots books soon from the House of Ideas!
– The Legends of Tomorrow season 2 poster has a few new faces on it.
– And, finally, IDW is going old school with their promotional tactics for the “Revolution” series.
