Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– As they do each year, BOOM! has been revealing teasers for upcoming projects that will be revealed at New York Comic Con next week. Yesterday’s was, perhaps, the most intriguing of all: a new ongoing series from Matt Kindt and Tyler Jenkins. Little more is known, but it starts in March. I’m sure we will get all the details next week at the con.
– Valiant has revealed their first official look at Michael Rowe as Ninjak in their secret live-action project and, I must say, it looks pretty cool.
– Christian Wildgoose is taking over “Batgirl” from Rafael Albuquerque with issue 7 in January. I don’t think anyone expected Albuquerque to stick around too long on the book, but – and no offense to Wildgoose – I think we all wish he was there a bit longer.
– So, it appears that BOOM!’s upcoming WWE comic will be simply adapting ‘classic’ storylines into comic form, instead of telling new ones. That is an interesting tactic, and I’m not quite ready to make a judgement on it just yet. The first story to be adapted is the breakup of the Shield.
– And, finally, Misty Knight will be appearing on Netflix’s The Defenders.
