Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Despite a certain ‘media partner’ having a month dedicated to Supergirl, the Hollywood Reporter broke news that DC will be publishing a new Supergirl miniseries starting in December. “Supergirl: Being Super,” written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Joelle Jones is an out of continuity take on the character’s first days on Earth. Despite my snark, I can’t wait.
– We just spoke about this last week, but it appears a done deal: Greg Berlanti will be executive producing a Black Lightning pilot for Fox. The show will seemingly be in the Arrowverse, but who knows? Due to the pilot commitment coming in now, it isn’t likely that we will see any real casting information or images for the show until the new year.
– So, True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello will be playing Deathstroke in the upcoming solo Batman film, written and directed by Ben Affleck. I could go on for hours as to why this is both poor casting and a poor choice for a Batman cinematic villain, but I’m tired and want to go to sleep.
– Speaking of the DCEU, Geoff Johns has been making the rounds, letting folks know that the film universe will be considerably lighter than we’ve seen thus far, tone wise. I shall believe this when I see it, especially with Zach Snyder still helming Justice League.
– Warren Ellis and Colleen Doran are doing a 26 issue free web comic next year called “Finality” for LINE Webtoons, a Korean comic company. I’m certainly interested in checking this out.
– We now know the reason why this week’s issue of “Green Lanterns” was pulped – and it is dumb.
– And, finally, Mirror Master won’t carry a gun on The Flash. I get it, but I love the design of that character, and can’t see the show translating it all that well. Take away the gun, and he’ll look unrecognizable.
