Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– Dan DiDio took to YouTube yesterday, alongside Geoff Johns, to tease a “major announcement” coming today at some point. Some, including a few Multiversity writers, believe that this will be the rumored pairing of Johns and John Romita, Jr. on a monthly Superman title. Bleeding Cool thinks so, too. If that is the case, consider me very, very excited.
– It appears that BJ Novak’s role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 role has been revealed. All I can muster is a big ol’ “meh.” I like Novak a lot, but that character doesn’t exactly excite me.
– Joe Kelly, like lots of us, is really saddened by the loss of Philip Seymour Hoffman. He discusses the nature of creating while abusing substances on this Facebook post.
– The Hero Initiative, one of our favorite organizations, is launching the “Uncanny X-Men 100 Project,” featuring 100 artists sketched on covers for “Uncanny X-Men” #12. A few of these are absolutely jaw-dropping (Khoi Pham, I’m looking at you) – bid on these and help some creators in need!
– Even though HBO is no longer involved, it looks like a TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s “American Gods” is still in the works.
– Prices of comics keep rising – even when originally solicited cheaper. Boo.
– And finally, in what can be called a pretty clear case of a pot calling a kettle black, Bryan Singer talks Man of Steel and Superman Returns. I partly kid Singer but, c’mon, can’t we just make a good Superman movie and cut the shit already?
