Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Following up on a previous story, the first appearance of Superman in “Action Comics” #1 – in very pristine condition – sold for a record-breaking $3.2 million. I can’t even imagine what I’d do with $3.2 million, but buying a comic would not be one of them.
– According to Rich over at Bleeding Cool, time is very literally running out on Jonathan Hickman’s “Avengers” run, as it is now coming to an end with issue #44.
– TCJ takes a look at “The Multversity” #1, and their review is pretty damn fantastic. Well worth a read.
– Henry Cavill and Amy Adams do the Ice Bucket Challenge in costume as Superman and Lois Lane, and Cavill really, truly goes the Superman route with it as he gets dumped on A LOT.
– Finally, our condolences to the Deodato family, as cartoonist Deodato Borges (aka “Mike Deodato, Sr.”) passed away at the age of 80.
