– This very interesting Forbes article finds Scott Mendelson talking about the X-Men franchises relative softness as a tentpole franchise, and how they’re going with the Fast Five route in overwhelming audiences with nostalgia by bringing everyone to the table in the upcoming Days of Future Past film. While I think that is an interesting angle, and perhaps correct, I do think it is at least partially informed by the fact that the storyline demands that all of these cast members into the story. It’s the nature of the story. Mendelson may not realize that, or he may be correct. Only Bryan Singer and an array of studio heads likely really know.
– Fast Co. Create has an in-depth look at “Sandman Overture” and its creation with the help of writer Neil Gaiman. Worth a read, and damn, that is a nice looking page/site.
– The Winter Soldier is returning in an upcoming mini-series, titled “Winter Soldier: The Bitter March”. Written by Rick Remender and illustrated by Roland Boschi, it sounds like Remender intends to get all Steranko-y in our business.
– Stick Skills breaks down the five best comic book video games of this generation, and you may see a little bit more about #1 later today right here on Multiversity.
– Sean Gordon Murphy tweeted pencils for the cover to his upcoming Kickstarter project, Cafe Racer, the anthology he’s writing and co-drawing with those in his upcoming apprentice program. Should be very, very interesting.
