Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Thomas Kretschmann, the actor playing Baron von Strucker in Avengers: Age of Ultron, has revealed that he signed a multi-picture deal with Marvel Studios. I doubt this means we’ll get a solo picture or anything of the sort out of this, but it is nice to see Marvel locking their talent up for whatever is coming next.
– Of less important, though more tabloid-selling news, it appears his co-star, Scarlett Johansson might be pregnant. If so, and if it would throw off some of the shooting schedule for the film, remains to be seen.
– Archie Comics has a new Chief Creative Officer! Congratulations to “Afterlife with Archie” scribe (among a million other things) Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on his new gig!
– Is DC announcing a new Arkham game tomorrow? Signs point to yes.
– As a massive fan of Terry Gilliam’s, let me say that just about everything Zack Synder says in this interview is total bunk. Sure, Gilliam’s proposed Watchmen ending is different, but it is a creative, outside the box, approach to the story. Snyder is, seemingly, incapable of such thinking.
– And, finally, are Dan DiDio and Keith Giffen going to launch a new Kamandi series? No one tell Paul Pope!
