Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Dustin Harbin is doing one-of-a-kind commissions for $50 – in that once he draws the person, real or fictional, he will never draw them again – and I gotta admit, I am so totally into that. Check it out at his BigCartel page and on his Tumblr, and whatever you do, don’t take any of the ones I want! They’re mine!
– Rich Johnston talks about the lay of the land at Marvel, DC and Image after his San Diego Comic Con experience, and while much of it is based off the typical he said/she said business, it is a fascinating read that I must admit I’ve heard a little bit of before, so I tend to believe it.
– Jesse Schedeen at IGN writes about the issues that event comics face in 2014, and while it’s a well-tread topic that has some problematic logic (especially the note about “editorial interference” being one of events biggest issues), people seem to like it in the comments? I don’t know. I’m a high-maintenance long-form reader.
– Yale Stewart, in the face of recent pointed criticism, has put “JL8” on indefinite hiatus.
– How many of these “Saga” band tees would Fiona Staples be able to sell if she actually made them? Best bet? A LOT.
