Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– Elizabeth “Bettie” Breitweiser, one of the best colorists in the business as well as a previous collaborator with Ed Brubaker on some Captain America work, has stepped in to replace Dave Stewart on Brubaker and Sean Phillips’ “Fatale” with Image Comics. As Breitweiser shared from “Fatale” #12 on Instagram, #12 will be her first issue and it became necessary when Dave Stewart’s schedule got a bit wonky (which I’d guess may have been tied to “Fatale” becoming an ongoing). Either way, we’re incredibly excited about her as an addition. Given my experience with her work, I can’t imagine that they could have found a better replacement for Stewart. Congrats to Breitweiser on the fantastic new gig!

– According to The Beat, Mike Carey, one of our faves around the Multiversity offices, will be signing up at Boom! Studios for an upcoming creator-owned title. That’s a huge get for Boom! and welcome news for us from Mike, as we’ve been greatly enjoying “The Unwritten,” but come on, we’re selfish! We want more of his work. Congrats to our friends at Boom! for getting Carey to join their ranks – we’re sure he’s going to do a fantastic job (and more on this as it comes up).

– Did you read Sina Grace’s excellent graphic novel “Not My Bag” last year from Image? If not, stop reading this and go do that. If so, I have good news for you. According to Bleeding Cool, who surmised this from Sina’s Tumblr, Grace is working on a sequel. Very early teaser art is at the link, but we’re excited for what comes next in Grace’s career. Keep it going Sina!

– Lara Craft, Tomb Raider, is returning to comics at Dark Horse. In the news story from Robot 6, the creative team includes game writer Rhianna Pratchett and artists Nicolas Daniel Selma and the very gifted Andrea Mutti. More details are available at R6, but if you’re into this sort of thing…you know, get pumped.

– Now, to talk about something I’m into, congrats to our friends at Archaia for their well-deserved titles on YALSA’s 2013 Great Graphic Novels for 2013 list. Three of their books made the list, as “Hopeless Maine,” Royden Lepp’s excellent “Rust,” and my personal favorite, the ridiculously fantastic “Cow Boy: A Boy and his Horse” from Nate Cosby and Chris Eliopoulos all were chosen for graphic novels aimed at the 12 to 18 year-old audience.
