Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– I’m still not buying on this one yet, as very few other pubs picked this up, but The Wrap is saying that DC is targeting Jared Leto to play the Joker in “Suicide Squad”. I’ll believe he’ll do that when I see it, but most of Multiversity thinks he’ll do a great job. We shall see.
– The Mary Sue posted a primer for guiding non comic fans on how they can get into comics once they decide they want to, and I have to say, it’s a great idea for a piece. Comics are confusing as hell for people like me, but for newbies? God help them. Little informal rubrics like that can help a lot.
– While I actually have no problem with the James Sturm comic it is responding to (I actually thought Sturm’s “The Sponsor” was fantastic and not as negative as people have made it out to be), Brandon Graham’s response to that comic is really fantastic in its own right.
– Hayao Miyazaki isn’t sure he can finish his samurai manga, and I for one hope he finds time, but damn Hayao! Slow down! People do that when they retire and I hope you do too!
