Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– Kevin Huizenga, the cartoonist mostly known for his “Ganges” work, had a long and fascinating conversation with Marc Sobel at TCJ, and it’s a really unique look into the mindset of a great creative mind in comics. Well worth a read, and I love seeing really long interviews that touch on not just the work of creator, but who they really are.
– I think these new ads from DC before San Diego Comic Con are an attempt to court the younger crowds, but I think they just sort of underline the huge disconnect DC has with younger readers. Or readers of any variety.
– Speaking of DC not understanding younger readers, here is the selfie variant to “Batman/Superman” #14.
– What would Jamie McKelvie do if he redesigned Iron Man? You can find out at Robot 6.
– Unsurprisingly, both “Rocket Raccoon” and “The Legendary Star-Lord” are sell-outs for their debuts.
– Lastly, I wrote a little something about the controversy surrounding us this week and the idea of doing comic journalism for free being a devaluing experience for the writer. Feel free to take a read if that sounds interesting to you. Or not.
